This is not at all my taste but what is very clever is how the large column (which is always an eyesore, in my view) was used and repurposed as a bookcase with perfect television storage as well as a room divider --- brilliant! One aspect that he didn't mention is the mirror backsplash in the kitchen which always enlarges the area and is a great idea. The one piece I love is the yellow "egg" swivel chair. Having a bad day? That chair would certainly brighten my mood! Thanks for the tour !

Awesome segment. I appreciated the jolliness of the host and the cheerful way he explained his vision and the love for his work. A designer of such high caliber and yet does not display stuffiness nor pretentiousness This NYC home is simultaneously elegant stunning bold and playful. This was a real treat to watch.

Very cool place, I always am impressed by design that moves me - despite not being my exact preferred style, and this apartment does that. I thought I caught a glimpse of a terrace which would’ve been nice to see also, I always think outside space makes an NYC flat feel like a complete home. … I also wanted to see the lewd gnome ;-)

Yeah, but I could watch it over and over again. It's a fabulous place. Having access to a garage lift to have your car drive in and out directly from your door to the street is the height of luxury.

A lot of people do not want that in their home interior or have an entirely different definition of it, me being one of these people. I´m so beyond tired of the whole "lived in / home(ly) / warm and cozy" mania when it comes to home environments.

@ Miek80 - 1. Yes, to each their own. I love his home. He is a famous designer and probably wants to come home to a more neutral home with NOT a lot of intense color since he works with so many colorful things ( fabric, carpets, drapes, etc.) at work. The house with its neutral tone with splashes of color, helps him to relax and decompress. 2. I can not stand to see a home with a lot of different colors and prints. I can not stand big checkered floors. It makes me get a headache and nauseous sometimes. I can only watch some videos of Persian design. If they have too many colors and patterns thrown together, I skip to another video.
