I love this song! As the wife of a retired Armed Forces husband and the mother of 4 sons who have and still serve in the Armed Forces this song hits 'home'. Letters and phone calls to our families while on tour with the military, missing 'home', the smells, the food, the fun times, the memories...and as the song says "there's no dollar sign on the peace of mind" is true. My twins (identical) birthdays are coming up and I asked 1 of them "what would you like for your birthday?" He said "home. I miss the mountains, the house, the fun times, your food, and the smells of home😢." Thank y'all for playing "Chicken Fried"!❤🇺🇸

I did 21 years active duty army as a combat medic, been to combat many times but always loved bbqing and playing this just relaxing with friends. The thing about the military is all cultures coming together each brings their own foods and we would all just pig out, shit talk and make comments that would be considered racist on the outside but all knowing we would die for each other we never took shit seriously ❤

This song is all love. Those lyrics are strong and something that should make you happy, proud, and embrace Family and and Country. Love you family and love what this country is .. not the Govt.. the people. Oh.. and a good pair of Jeans. Notice the family at his cookout. Crazy uncle is embraced instead of lambasted. No canceling family. They have their elders around them. They love their children and appreciate their women's love.

The song (to me) is about love of America and the slow southern lifestyle; where family and friends is everything. Chicken fried does not mean fried chicken; it means a style of cooking. Breading the meat, be it a steak, chicken breast, pork chop, etc.. frying it crispy and serve it with a white country gravy.
