You looked strong the WHOLE way! (Sorry, commenting from my son’s account, Ha. I’m actually a 33 year old woman training for MY first marathon this year.) I teared up when you teared up after finishing! So awesome. And then I laughed when you were snuggling with your medal! Lol. Totally doing that. Congratulations!!!

Thanks! You'll have lots of fun. Just fuel well and pace yourself. Lots of crowds. Getting to the start line and the final walk back home are the hard parts! Celebrate when you get done.

That was a lot of fun to watch. I watch a lot of running videos. That's the first one that actually showed the crowds w/in the race. She really had a lot of walkers to contend with early on in her race. I hope she gets to start at a more forward corral in future races. Thanks for posting.

We actually missed our wave. Hint: There are bathrooms available even once you get into the wave areas. So she started a little further behind, but we really didn't mind. Running past people was motivating.

I'm going to volunteer for the NYC marathon for the 3rd time in a couple of days. Your video really inspires me to want to run it next year. It was well done and you have such a great supporter right there with you. You can tell he ran ahead and took footage at every mile as you ran past the camera. I hope I can return in about a year to say I've completed the marathon as well.

Sarah, I watched your video during lunch at work today. Your video is both heartwarming and intensely motivating. You see, I am a disabled athlete and will be doing MY first NYC Marathon this year. I won a lottery and will compete on a handcycle as a charity "runner" for Achilles International. The odds of us meeting are pretty slim but if this world is as small as it sometimes appears to be, it would be an honor to meet you. Whether that happens or not, I will be replaying your experience during my prep for the race. Thanks so much for posting. Stu Sherman Bristol, Conn. I am on Facebook

Half marathon, 10 milers for her, and a Tri thrown in for good measure. The other side are my medals which do include some marathon medals. Good eyes though!!
