Wow as a first generation American this is absolutely appalling behavior. The entitlement should be alarming to us all. These people came here to take from us and that’s it. If we don’t give, they will take.

The question is, why are tax payers being forced to pay for people that enters our country illegally? The nerve to refuse housing where we say you can be housed! They got in that hotel thinking that they were going to live like that for a very long time. This is the government's problem not the people of the US!

They are so spoiled. My spouse travels 1.5 hours one way to go to work every day. They are getting free transportation and don't want to stay there? The city made a mistake by putting them in those hotels in the city- now they think that is the norm.

The ones willing to stay there might be just the ones who need real help.

How are their kids registered in schools in the first place THEY'RE NOT EVEN AMERICAN CITIZENS AND THEY BROKE THE LAW COMING HERE

They have a 24 hour cafeteria and are able to eat whenever they want? Why couldn't those accommodations be offered to our homeless veterans?

When they do things like this, they lose any shred of sympathy the public has left. You’re not entitled to anything, you don’t even have a legal right to be here in the first place. Additionally, some are saying the “American Dream” doesn’t exist and want to head back home, and to that I say “Well, what did you expect?” For those that do stay here, you’re gonna learn that everything that you see in movies growing up is not always an accurate depiction of real life. Don’t get me wrong, you can find opportunities here, but be prepared to compete and get ready for disappointment. Get ready to work!

If asylum seekers don’t like it, I invite them to leave. Asylum seekers are supposedly running for their lives. These people are not in any position to demand ANYTHING. My blood boils when I think about what that money could do to help our own citizens sleeping on the streets. 20/20 hindsight says absolutely NOTHING should have been done for these so called asylum seekers starting with the first bus load.

We had to stay on a refugee camp on an island off the coast of Indonesia for 11 months waiting for sponsorship from the US. There were disease and famine and all around worse conditions than this. After only 6 years, my family became US citizens. Everything was done legally. Don't be ungrateful, accept your fate.

It’s so weird! Couple of months ago these migrants had no problems living in the streets of Central America and Mexico but they complain once they get here about having food and a place to sleep. If they think it’s so bad here they are welcome to go back to their countries.🤷‍♂️

When you start out by putting people in 5 star hotels in an expensive central location, of coarse they won't want to downgrade. These tent cities should have been erected long ago and the people automatically sent to one of them as soon as they arrived. They could have provided bilingual teachers on site and created a space for "school."

Imagine being Homeless and Refusing A Place to Stay

Back in the day immigrants would have gladly accepted such an opportunity, to have shelter, food, transportation and more while working hard to create a new life, in a new country that offered more freedom to be able to help oneself. These immigrants now come with an attitude of expectation to be cared for, to be given what others have to work for. I have seen many women with numerous young children expecting to have all their needs taken care of, to raise their kids in a country without any expense to themselves, to not even have to work or lift a finger and all the while complaining. How long will it take for people with such attitudes to look at the homes of others and think they are entitled to that as well? Many come from countries in which violence is a way of life and now they are in countries with peace minded people. All it takes is one voice among them to stir the already heated emotions of resentment, self pity, jealously, rage and then an attack on the original peoples. We already see violence on our streets and most of them are recent immigrants, all fired up for a cause that doesn't belong on our streets. How much have we endured listening to people call out hatred just for disagreeing in thought and now hate rules our streets. These two groups will unite and in the meantime the rest of us better unite and get this situation under control somehow because it's an emotional storm waiting to be unleashed on many unsuspecting people who are not prepared to face such hatred and violence at their own doorsteps.

In meanwhile, all of the local homeless and legal immigrants homeless can’t go into any of these shelters, and get any government benefits without any background check.

Then that should clear the city from any responsibility, the city provided shelter but the beggars do not get they cannot be choosers, they haven’t earned that right or paid a penny into our system.

Where do they expect to go ? We have American families on waiting lists for housing all over America . Maybe they should go back . Several American families are living in their cars.

Absolutely no reason to be serving food 24 hours a day. Isn't there some kind of curfew? Who ever is running these programs are quite masterful at wasting money

I just returned from Haiti. You are correct. Haitians are allowed to enter the U.S. under a parole program. But you don’t see or hear them complaining about conditions in the U.S. It’s 10,000 times better than Port Au Prince.

My family came to NYC from Ireland, the whole family worked, they received no charity and were grateful for what they had. My great great grandfather worked his way up in the police eventually becoming a captain in Brooklyn and was able to provide the family with a nice home in bay ridge and a summer home on long island.

New York City need to stop the buses from coming and the Migrants should go back home it’s time for sanctuary cities to end.
