Yes those were the days, when the whole family would gather to watch various shows, even with my grandparents, so that would be 3 generations enjoying the evening together, making funny comments, etc,( just like the TV show "Goggle Box"). We loved shows like this & Dave Allen, Monty Python, Rockford Files, Morecombe & Wise Show, The Likely Lads and so on! Great memories, great TV (from a gentler period), loved it !

Oh yes indeed! My first job I worked on a deli counter. Late on Saturdays this customer would come in and ask for 2 ounces of either Gambazola or Dolcilatte soft cheese. To try and cut 2 ounces with a cheese wire is very hard to judge. If went slightly over he’d refuse and if too small refuse, you’d end up with a bunch of tiny cuts nobody would buy, the annoying clown! These days I’d refuse on waste grounds.

@rogerjenkinson7979
@rogerjenkinson7979 Жыл бұрын
Not just customers are awkward. I like cola bottles. My local shop lady sold them loose for 1p each. I used to biy £1s worth & she used to count them out each time. I asked why she didn't weigh 5 or 10 then multiply & sell them by weight. She refused, saying that some are bigger than others. So we both had to endure the whole process each time. I'm the kind of guy who found each one (visit & cola bottle) hugely entertaining. I did think about trying to make her lose count. But that would have been cruel.

Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.

@dfggfd gfdgfd Oh look! Another personality assassin! I was not spamming. I'm a big fan of the Ronnies and am amazed that they are still so popular. Maybe while I study up on decency, you can do he same with humility. As Churchill would have said, you probably have much to be humble about.

@dfggfd gfdgfd So I assume it is because you are an intellectual giant that you are now trolling me? Why do you send the same message three times? Grow up. Life is too short for me to respond to this kind if infantile behaviour. Good night.

@@returnofbark4680 I'm 17 and I love the classic British comedies: The Two Ronnies, morecambe and wise, porridge, ofah, fawlty towers, rising damp, the Royle family, steptoe and son, one foot in the grave, father ted...to name a few. But yes I do agree. My generation needs to realise what good comedy is instead of the crap we get nowadays. I'd rather watch britcoms/sketches than be on social media any day of the week

Anyone from Scotland remember Bon Bons? Ball shaped wee things. Some sort of powdered sugar on the outside.They had a chewy middle ( toffee or toffee flavoured ?), and the outside was either : 1/ pink, i think it was strawberry, not raspberry, 2/ yellow, definitely lemon, or 3/ plain white. Sold by the quarter pound. Early '80s.

What I like about the sweet shops is that it gives you the control on how much of sweets you like to buy either by weight or tell the shop owner in price wise say chocolates or small candies worth a quarter dollar, half a dollar or a dollar etc.
