I have been running the Nyos 260 for about 2 years now and the 220 for about 7-8 months so its time for a long term review!

Agree I have the 120 on my 105 it works great just a little longer break in period then other skimmers I’ve used.

I have had the 160 and 220 for 3 years without any issue. Both seem extremely silent to me and work great! Definitely happy with them.

I have had the 160 for about 6 months and pretty much agree with everything you've sad! Found mine a tad noisy but a slight adjustment to the dials and it settles down. Be nice if it had a built in float switch like Reef Octopus and Maxspect

I thought I read 8-10", I made my sump baffles to be 11" knowing I will need a stand. The 160 i got was used and seems to work very good. I also have a rsk-300 and will say the nyos does seem to work better. Mine will go into a 80 gal that is converted to a sump for a dual 80 gal frag tank setup I am working on.

I just got the 160 and it starting skimmer within hours of it being put in. I had a Red Sea before which was great but I wanted to get a more clean looking skimmer.the only difference I really notice is that the Red Sea was a little noticeable the air intake in my opinion was a little too small causing it to be noisy and the Nyos you can’t even hear it

That is a custom Geo's Reef Sump! :)

They should just make the AC version controllable. It would be a bummer to give up the reliability of AC for DC (despite it being a little louder). My Rossmont SX250 skimmer is AC controllable and you can even program a schedule on the app to align with dosing. E.g., turning the pump down when you dose aminos.

The nyos has a built in ozone port on the bottom of the silencer

I have the 160 and ever since I connected an outside air intake line I get so much foam that starts coming out the top lid. It's very dry and when I try to adjust the water level I get tons of micro bubbles in my tank. Any suggestions? Thanks

Try taking out the tube that adjusts the the output water or raise it up a bit

Wait you pulled the fine adjustment tube for water right out of that skimmer? I’ve had the same skimmer for about a year and a half now and all of the sudden it’s blowing micro bubbles all over into my sump and I can’t get it to stop.

Yep, the water was deeper than it should be so it kinda worked out well. I would just take your skimmer out and give it a good overall cleaning.

Hello. I also have the two of them. Your 220 setting really low. I think it's the watt deferent. My is 220v

Should be just above the Q. Mine was raised up a bit for something i dosed.

Real talk: don't the used Klir filter rolls have an odor? It's just a wet roll with rotting material stuck in it.... surely its gross?

I have a clarisea on my tanks.. and surprising there is no real odor.. It rolls up the nasty so if you were to unroll it there is likely some.. but in its rolled up state it contains things pretty dang well

@@ReefDudes The truth is that the smell is not appreciated. If you unroll it, the smell is going to kill you.
