Thanks for all the amazing content over the years...not to complain but wasn't the idea of 52 weeks of reefing to have a video each week? The formula you set years ago was simple. What changed?

So is this series being abandoned with Ryan taking time away? Is someone going to be taking over? Whats happening to the tanks? I was super curious how the tanks would come along. Would be nice to get an update good or bad on whats happening.

Hey Ryan, I've been in the hobby for a long time and I have been enjoying your videos for a long time. I have a question I have a 110 gal. Tru view tank with a piggy back sump system attached to the back of the tank, how can I make a external refugium to the tank while keeping the same skimmer filtration system that came with the tank? Just a sump with a pump without the skimmer inside? I used to be fish only and now im getting into corals. I appreciate any help thanks

Skimmer is probably 80% the filter in my tank. The rest is picked up in weekly water changes siphoning detritus and algae

What ever happened with that tank you did a few months back planning on keeping a grouper with chromis? Are there any updates on that if so did the chromis act as a good dither fish for the grouper or did they get eaten? And what would the same scenario be like with an oriental sweetlips?

Most likely, It's been months and on other social media pages this channel acts more as advertising products than what they were back in the day. Sad to see this happen.

Been in this hobby for 30 years. I would never operate a system without a quality skimmer. Especially, for mixed reef systems. An aquarium without a skimmer is like a human body without kidneys.

Really? Do you think it’s necessary for a 20 Gallon if I do 25% water changes weekly while adding 25% Nutri-Seawater monthly. I’ve been doing this for a little over a year and my Corals seem to be thriving, but any “Real World” advice from personal experience would be appreciated 🙂

@@comment.highlighted You’re good on that small aquarium with that water change schedule. That’s aggressive and will keep your system in top shape. I am really referring to larger systems with fish populations.

@@dabish71 Ok, thank you. I have fish in my tank and feed them regularly, that’s why I’m on top of the water changes. These living creatures are in our care so I try my best 🙂

Just my tank, since day one. Running for 2 years haven't used a protein skimmer. Do water changes every 3 months of 25%. Stock level is medium, it's a 40G. Sps are super happy, hammers have been giving new heads every month. I think a skimmer is just not always necessary.

Is the skim mate from a marine reef of any Value back into the tank system at some point or into a separate closed loop system of Macro or Mangro or Phyto or Zoo plankton ?
