Wow, like a BIG HO layout! 🤣 Fun and fascinating! I was scratching my head over "PC Yard" so I looked it up and found out it's the old Passaic Junction yard, "PC" was the telegraph address in the old days. It was also known as Coalberg Junction at one time back in the days when the Erie RR kept a major coal stockpile there. Thanks for posting!

I did not know that about the coalberg junction nickname! Must have looked very different back then

@@northjerseyaerialrail9597 I just checked on of my Erie books and there's photos of the area from the late 40's, early 50's, and there's nothing there but trees, no massive development like there is today. Interestingly the Suzy-Q called it Passaic Junction while the Erie called it Coalberg.

@@northjerseyaerialrail9597 I just remembered, TRP (Trains & Railroads of the Past) magazine had a 20 page article on PC Junction titled "Erie-Lackawanna's PC Junction" in their Third Quarter 2021 issue. Written by a man who railfanned it as a teenager around 1970 it's well-written and loaded with color photographs. A great article! If you're interested it's still available from TRP as a back issue. ($8.99)

@@northjerseyaerialrail9597 You're welcome! I had one of those "Wait a minute!" moments last night and realized I'd saved the article and stuck it in one of my railbooks! One last thing on Coalberg. In 1906 there were ten coal storage units on-site with the capacity of a quarter-million tons of anthracite coal! As the century wore on and the demand for anthracite diminished the site got smaller and smaller until it outlived its usefulness. The site was on the present-day interchange area for Route 80 and the Garden State Parkway so no trace of it remains today.

NYS&W 3634 has a different Train horn instead of the old K5LA horn from the 2000s
