NZ School hols weather: Settled, drier as high moves in

Most of NZ is dry this week but showers are possible in the eastern North Island both start and end of the week - but it won’t be much. This weekend more showers are likely in the eastern North Island as the high pressure zone drops away to our south-east.
But this high pressure zone is enormous - and means more parts of NZ have drier, calmer, settled weather this week.
Once the high departs (in about a week) there may be a new change rolling in from the west with low pressure/rain bands.
We have your forecast across NZ for this week and the coming weekend.

Very cold when I walked into Central Christchurch sheepskin boots not too warm Not above average yet. Sunny indoors where windows are double glazed , though. No heating needed until sunset. But that is Christchurch in winter with clear skies

thanks again at least we have some quiet weather although cold for the morning start. Have family northwest of Houston in Waller a little town out of Houston about 30 to 40 miles away, just hunkering down as Hurricane Beryl is heading across that area

It was still grey and damp in northwest Auckland. Like you said, showers over the north. No big high for us in the north. I’m hanging out for sun!
