You cannot prove wether there was or multiple knives based on the types of wounds being different. Obviously you cannot tell if the knife that made the stab wounds is the same as the one that made the slash and slice marks. Since the blade would only face one direction. However there was no evidence at all to prove there had to be two weapons.

uhm, her testimony was an estimate not a fact based on her looking at a clock or watch. The phone records we know were in court, used to prove the timeline and the defense had no way to argue it with that in their face. You know that. The props the defense agreed to let the prosecution used times off the actual records that were seen by both sides of the trial as well as the judge. However, you destroy your own argument if police crime scene investigators collected blood from a murder site with EDTA & submitted it as evidence. They severely weaken their case against a defendant because EDTA should not be found in blood at a murder site unless THEY put it there.
