Tried to understand through the books and my system crashed. Then your videos came to the rescue. Have been avoiding this topic for a long time , Gosh why do you appear so difficult Glycosylation?? Now, FINALLY..i have understood this..both the N and O linked. Thank you for saving me and also the examples made it more clear.

So, in case of n linked glycosylation, was the e-selectin N-glycosylated? Or the residues on neutrophil surface?

Yes E-selectin is n-glycosylated but in neutrophils don’t know. Since selectins are adhesion proteins usually they are not expressed in neutrophils in normal condition but in pathological conditions may be yes.

Sir i have a doubt... Does o linked glycosylation exclusively occur in golgi.. Or it can be occur in ER too...

While the O-glycan biosynthesis can already be initiated in the ER, the majority of the O-glycan modifications take place in the Golgi.
