Beautiful job Mark. Do the timber plugs remain protruding as a feature or get surface trimmed later on? I’m not familiar with this type of raw timber construction so I don’t know. I wonder also if when pushing in a steel rod if the hole is a bit tight it might be an idea to run the grinder along the rod to create a groove for the resin to come out rather than create an air lock. Same principal as a timber dowel. If using 12mm rod and 12mm drill bit for the hole there’s likelihood of an air lock. Unless you use a slightly oversized drill bit to give a loose fit for the resin to form around the rod.

Cheers mate .I always leave them sticking out a bit .looks quite nice .but you can cut them flat if you don't like them sticking out.yere think you right mate could have done with the hole a little bigger.first one really struggling to get it in 👍👍👍

Hope you're not effected by the floods I see are in the motherland. We've had some pretty bad floods mostly up in the northern states.

@@markhep I live in the city of Melbourne which is in the state of Victoria down near the bottom of the country. It’s a pretty stable state with very few severe weather issues. There are some regional towns that get frequent flooding because they are river towns so the rivers overflow and inondate the towns. Also an area called East Gippsland gets regular flooding because it’s low lying land subject to excess river water. A number of these areas are in flood at the moment. Weather issues get worse the further up north you go. Queensland and North Queensland suffer the worst. It’s tropical up there so they get cyclones and very strong storms and floods. Queensland is the very popular tourist state but I wouldn’t want to live there. They had cyclone Jasper recently then further floods and storms. They are dealing with a lot of flooding at the moment. I remember as a boy when on Christmas Day cyclone Tracy went through the the city of Darwin which is at the top of the country. Completely wiped out the city. Nothing left. Since has been rebuilt and hopefully far more cyclone resistant. Wouldn’t choose to live in any of the places up north. Not only all the storm risks but horrible humidity during the wet season. Suicide season its known as. If you’re not acclimatised to that humidity you won’t last long.
