Is the water flow from the filter very pinefull? Like im afraid my small tetra will be tossed around bc of the power ?

Don't add it in a small fish occupied tank it will not push the fish that hard but can suck them in mostly from the top if there is no thermometer in this model and the top hole is open

This filter is good for circulation and cleaning but if you already have a canister filter the I don't think its necessary to add this unless your tank gets dirty frequently

I have a 35 L scraper tank that I’m setting up and I’m looking for a filter that is ultra quiet as it is in my bedroom I am proposing to keep beta fish and a few shrimp Your thoughts?

Go for a hangon back filter or Oase silent air pump if you want a silent filter as this would be too powerful for bettas and shrimps

You will still require heater if water too cold, oxygen pump not required

Hi. This model does not have a heater in it. It's just a filter

Do you need additional air pump while using this filter.. Can one replace one of the sponge with alternative media.. Ceremic balls ect

Usually air pump not needed but if you have big tank with many fishes then add an extra air pump. You can replace with alternate media.

@@benaqua10 thnx Is it ok. To use pump intermiently.. I have kept one as a reserve... Noisy... Use it once in a while.. The filter I am using is a Chinese one.. Doing both jobs.. Though my tank is not crystal clear.. Hence planning to replace I have zeroed on two models Oase bioplus 100 VERSES FLUVAL U3 Which do you suggest.. Ihave just started this hobby.. 6weeks..just learning the nuances of this hobby.. Surgeon by profession

The more expensive the filter the better the results sometimes. The small air pumps are noisy but usually do the jobs if tanks are not big. There are also silent airpumps available in the market and sometimes the noise goes away after continuous use

Hello. Never wash with soap, but since you have bought a second hand filter, wash it in normal water and keep the filter opened with sponges in a bucket of rock salt water so its nicely cleaned before using in any aquarium

Don't use in any fish babies tank. The water is drawn inside through the opening grills on both sides. You can cover that with a good quality cloth but it will inturn affect the filtration. Plus a sponge filter is better in fry tank specially a tub. I am using a small sponge filter in my goldfish fry tub and having no problems.

It depends on how many fish you have. I have around 35 goldfish babies and a sponge filter in my 3 feet tank so in 4 to 5 days I clean.

Usually you should clean any filter when you notice your water colour slightly changing or getting cloudy. Once per week would do. Also once you know the maximum time you can keep it running, you will get an idea
