It's moments like that where you can see beneath his acerbic veneer. Just watch his early interviews...like the one with Jools Holland, and you can see how painfully shy he was at that point...

@@jeffgachihi8225 so true.. every major oasis fan should be able to see beneath it like Noel himself says it’s all in the songs not necessarily about his dad etc but you listen to a song like cast no shadow or master plan and tell me that’s not a man that (covertly) wears his heart on his sleeve. Except it’s just in the songs.

Noel and Liam do a lot to defend other celebrities unlike certain other singers/ musicians who claim to be friends but ultimately stab each other in the back because they've lost track of their routes. Taylor Swift being a good example of a singer who stabs others in the back.

Parkinson really was a genius, the best interviewer of all time. He ever so slightly steers Noel into talking about his upbringing, specifically about how he was physically abused by his father, and nobody, not even Noel, realises it and is just going along with it. Noel only realises what he's talking about when he is specifically asked about how he was beaten as a child, and he clearly remembers it, and that's when he realises he has to make a joke and turn the tide of the interview. I really miss Parkinson, when you really used to find about these famous people, what they were like, what made and inspired them. Nowadays every interview show, Graham Norton, Johnathan Ross, its all just comedy and try to make it funny. There's a real gap in the market for something like this.
@marjanp4784
@marjanp4784 Жыл бұрын
I like it that he doesn't like to moan about his childhood experience. He's very optimistic and positive about life and everything. A lot of famous people love to whine all the time saying how miserable their lives are and how they're suffering from literally everything despite being rich and successful. They don't even know what a truly miserable life is, or how regular people really struggle to make ends meet...

Gotta love Noel Gallagher and how he doesn't beat around the bush and simply says it like it is. Even in the company of great celebrities he's able to handle the situation like a pro. Even as Rod talks about the R.Brand episode he doesn't sit back as others would he tells him R.Brand is a good friend. Basically Noel hasn't changed and stayed a Northerner thru & thru.

Yeah, but I think music and his career saved him, like with Billy Connolly and his career. It gave him something very positive to focus on and in the back of his mind he would be thinking, f**k you, you was a b'stard but look at me now and in a way his success became his revenge. He's obviously very strong as well though, mentally, thats why he got off drugs on his own.

Sadly you don't see these types of interviews on telly anymore. People dont have the attention span to sit through serious interviews on prime time chat shows now hence why these sort of interviews are done through podcasts. Meanwhile, Jonathan Ross is cluttering up a prime time slot every week on ITV asking singers no one has ever heard of wearing awful designer clothes if they've ever farted on stage 😒

Parky keeps pushing - as a former journalist would - for the 'I blame my childhood and my Dad' admission. Thankfully Noel stays wonderfully pragmatic and working class and doesn't blame parents / childhood / upbringing. Those things made him and he knows it. Far smarter than his image portrays. Major hero of my generation - we need 'Noel's' in life to remind us what it is all about.

But he's right about the 33 ''Best Of'' songs though. Its almost impossible to make a shorter ''Best Off'' list cause you would not give credit to some song that would deserve it. This is the thing with Oasis. Most top band have like 2 or 3 really good songs on a CD and the rest is just a bit less. Oasis has even singles where there are 3 songs that all would be candidate for a ''Best Of'' cd LOL

I think they did for a short time. Noel elaborates things a little bit. He always says he was on the dole but he worked for the gas board

I think Parky's left it a bit late to have a brother,as they often say 'Money can't buy you everything'.......Good Album Stop The Clocks.....Spoiler Alert,i'm speaking from the future now and The Gallagher Brothers have a big scrap and Oasis is Over,i'm not going to give away too much but 2020 is going to be a right stinker.
