@@user-oh7iv3ij5x Liam has written some decent bits but it took him years of learning and influence from his brother. The band only made it when Noel joined and provided the songs. Yes the band was perfect together and Liam was the perfect frontman/voice but without Noels prolific songwriting talents I doubt they would have been signed up.

Nishant Mehrotra You maybe thinking I’m criticizing Liam or taking sides. I’m not. Even if I was, why do you care? Liam was the frontman, the main singer. Which absences were felt the most? His or Noel’s? I do think his absences were more “damaging” than Noel’s to the band’s image. Or maybe it added to their “mystique”. But sometimes a no-show was also a great gift - we would’ve never had that awesome Unplugged if Liam kept his part of the deal. Relax, OK? Sometimes a question is just a question, not an attack.

According to author Nicholas Pegg in ‘The Complete David Bowie,’ this is what really happened: “Bowie’s muted demeanour during his interview with Holland may be put down to a hastily covered-up incident that had occurred during rehearsals. Sharing the shows billing were Oasis, whose vocalist Liam Gallagher was absent due to what the BBC described as a “sore throat”. In fact what had happened was that Gallagher, in one of his tiresome attempts at rock’ n’ roll outrage, had declared Bowie to be a “washed-up old fart” and attempted to throw a punch at him. He was escorted from Television Centre and lead vocals were taken by his brother.”

They're musicians, they know better. Almost all the other musicians in set aren't clapping either. Do you know how much we despise having the audience clap to the "beat" while we play? They can never hold time in unison, and it becomes very difficult to focus and stay in the pocket. I stopped dead in the middle of a song once to ask the audience to stop, because it was throwing my drummer off, who was on cajones for that set. I don't think they're being arrogant, they just know it's rude to clap along to the beat. Clap after the damn song.
