Michelle and Barack Obama form one of the stronger, inspirational and powerful couple I have ever seen in politics. The way both speak is so captivating appeasing. I love Joe and Jill, I actually grew up in Claymont, Delaware, childhood home of Joe. But, in seeing the Obamas today, I think they were the most classy residents of the White House. No controversy for them or their children, both highly educated, well spoken, compassionate, and successful. No one is perfect, I know they made their mistakes, but miss them very much. This ceremony was a positive respite from the chaos of today.

Even with the awful grief that came on November 22 1963, my memory is also blessed with the elegance and intelligence they brought to the country and the world. The Obamas brought the same and they got to do it for 8 years, not less than three. So grateful to see them back in the WH. I'm grateful to the Bidens and the extraordinary challenge they have taken on in the face of brutality and hate.

Somehow having former President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama visit our White House for the unveiling of these beautiful portraits as guests of President Biden and First Lady Dr Jill Biden, with VP Kamala Harris and Second Spouse Doug makes things seem right in the world again. If even for a few moments. Our nation needs more of this positive continuity. Thanks to our past leaders who set brilliant examples and led us to believe in our reliance towards a more unified productive nation. The restoration of our amazing grace can rise once more.

ROBERT McCurdy will not be doing any portraits of me. Where is the back ground on Barracks portrait. The portrait is not warm at all its cold. You have this in complete emptiness. I am totally not impressed. The image that i see is one of self absorption... he totally was not that way. Because of this man my mother was able to get healthcare and catch a stage 1 breast cancer, so i do not see this image. The fact that you said "the relationship with the viewer and that's a two way street", man I would take that painting a wack you over the head with it. Your suppose to paint WHO HE IS! Instead you left a blank slate on him. You can look at the image and have 60 different views THAT IS F UP. You didn't paint the truth as far as I'm concerned. Hearing him speak right afterward is quite telling of who he is. SHAME! Robert you are hereby CANCELLED!

I wish we didn't have that pesky 'male fragility' issue in this country. We might have a shot at a woman president. At least forty other countries do. On another note... I'm ecstatic the one terminator opted not to accommodate protocol. Meaning after two or six years from now when the next president is elected they will be unveiling the Bidens portraits. Then the sooner we can sweep the gap under the rug that was so embarrassing.

I have to admit this made me tear up more than once. Just lovley remembering how dignified and civil America really is was difficult just six years ago. The years following dimmed the hope of so many of us. I'm really grateful the Bidens were the ones unveiling the portraits as it was all the more meaningful and fitting. It's so wonderful to hear positive, warm comments from both Presidents. There was no patting of their own backs. They both showed appreciation for others that helped along the way. Sadly I know Trump will not miss the chance to somehow ruin it with some Tweet or stupid comment.
