It must have been super difficult to grow up with cameras following you around everywhere you go and not develop some sort of complex about it. I think Barack and Michelle did a very good job raising their daughters under those circumstances.

One thing I learn from Obama was that, unlike most parents, he raised his daughters like people and not property or possessions. I mean they set some rules for them but he allowed them to be their own persons. Like I grew up in an African household and like most African households, as a girl growing up I felt controlled under my parents and I couldnt do anything because it reflects badly on them. What I mean by that is, when I wanted to wear certain clothes or go to concerts it was always "it would make us (my parents) look bad." Even being forced to go to church EVERY Sunday because of their image. So when I see malia at a concert smoking a splif or sasha working at a smoothie shack it makes me love them even more because they are just like us. I don't think their has been any first child as cool as Malia Obama since Alice Roosevelt! Majority of them time presidents daughters had to be "proper". Obama raised his girls to be goal orientated as well as being themselves. He didnt deny them of living regular teenage lives. And I hope many fathers follow that.
