Have you considered getting a gen 3 LS vehicle, or swapping one, so you can have that as a test vehicle. The 12587603 OS P59 being a popular option. The gen 3 LS trigger wheel and crank sensor can be mounted to the crank pulley of anything; that's the hardest part. The rest is math, flashing with free software, and test driving and more flashing to get things dialed in real good. There's enough tuning support already. I'm loving the idea of OEM EFI swaps for newer (non emissions exempt) vehicles being accessible. I like repurposing 'junk' into something respectable instead of just ingots and landfill.

19:28 I believe it. The same thing for windows? I don't own a smart phone.

Great work, This was the app that I look for a long time. Unfortunately I can't put this to work on my 2006 audi.when I modify the user test file, the app crash's.i thinks that was because my van is work's with 7 bytes messages, and the app works with 6 bytes messages. Sorry for my bad English.

Hi Joao...The data, as it is, is 7 bytes. (For example...AE 20 00 00 00 80 00 is seven bytes - 14 characters, 2 for each byte). The app will crash easily by putting too much/too little data in, missing comma, missing quotation mark, ect. Can you tell me how you modified it? Also, you can send email to info@thoughtpill.com. Another thing, on the 'status' page the app should indicate the protocol your car is using. That would help too. Thanks man.

@@Roudter sorry, when I said 7 bytes, I was counting on byte 0 as well. for example, for road lights the message is 00 00 00 00 40 00 01 00. the protocol is iso 15765-4(11bit-500k). I'll try it more calmly over the weekend.

@@joaobarros9139 Oh, ok. So My cars use the same protocol. That protocol only takes 7 bytes of data per message. That 'active test' page doesn't do anything to clean the data so we have to be careful. We are using spaces here, but not in the file - right? Also, "00 00 00 00 40 00 01 00" represents 8 bytes (get rid of the first two 00) no more than 14 chars, no spaces. First thing is to avoid the crash. Let me know. Have a great weekend!

@@Roudter yes, I'm just using spaces here to make it easier, on the page I don't put spaces. I'll try and then let you know. great weekend. thanks

I tried your data. My app froze, then I had to forcefully close it. ( data you gave me "00 00 00 00 40 00 01 00"). Then I had to manually crash and restart. Same thing with "0000000040000100" (now, not using any spaces) But "00000040000100" loaded without an issue. (removed two zeros on the left side) Notice the data that worked ("00000040000100") is 7 bytes I have to fix the software so that you CAN enter with spaces and any amount of leading digits Also, I need to make the software more resilient to a crash while loading the file. Thanks.

I spliced (physically) into the can line and read the data as a GM Tech II did it. Sorry for the late response.

@@Roudter Curious, why did you have to splice into it? Are there codes which aren't shown using the ELM237?

@user-tf1es3vj7d You can't connect both tech2 AND elm at the same time - unless you tap into the line.

@@Roudter Ah, gotcha! Thanks for making these videos, man. I spent the past few days watching every single one. I am building a custom dashboard for a motorcycle as my holidays project. There's another question I have if you don't mind: If I sniff out the code for e.g. increasing the volume of the radio, I can transmit that into the CAN in the same way as I would do when receiving data such as the RPM, right? And for that type of command (increasing volume) I don't think I'd need to also send the "tool present" info, right? Thanks a ton!

@@xAlba263 The CAN is like the car's internal nerve system. It's only a means of moving data. Everything is done through the CAN bus. The hard part is discovering what ECU ids to send data to. And, what data to send to any particular ecu?. I found Rasberry Pi modules quite good at monitoring the CAN.
