My wife was a nurse and lost her job over the vaccine, even with the large nurse shortage and overwhelmed hospitals could not find another job in her field in our area. I was lucky to work for a company not full of crazy people so my job wasn’t affected. Crazy times.

I did this set up for all my deck and shed lighting. Found some 12v light bulbs on amazon with the standard light bulb base, Wire all my external lighting as a 12v system. Its great during power outages, Im the only house with external lights on. I run 2 12v sealed on front and same set up for the front.

ELM327 is a cheap option but not a good option, most professional adapters do not use an ELM327 due to its limitations. Nexiq, Tactrix, Machinna, SnapOn, OTC, they will all have their own hardware for the specific protocols they support.

@Roudter, could you please help me to understand how I can get a PID from an existing sensor on Car Scanner? I'm struggling to get ATF Temp PID, I need it to create a custom PID sensor on Torque Pro, because in Torque I can show data on screen. Thanks in advance.

Most of these very cheap ELM327-labelled adapters from China have Microchip MCU PIC18F* inside, or similar. And this makes me suspect the ELM327 original one chip might be a re-labelled microcontroller itself, because, I have doubts that Chinese have reverse engineered the original ELM327 chip so deep to make its copy for their mass production of very cheap interfaces on its basis, perhaps an MCU firmware just leaked.

Great stuff. I probably missed something, but where does RS232 come into the picture? Are you just using it to send messages to your CAN modem? I was looking at a USB to OBD2 connector, but I guess ESP32 doesn’t have direct support for driving something like that?

I been hear about this, but this oil dont prevent the oxide right? i dont use my firearm too much, i have it saved, so when im going to use it it have so much oxide :( what do you recommend me

I think now that the oil is not the ideal preservative. I should correct myself on video. It works for a while, but for long term storage I used to make a grease/oil cocktail that would stay put. Lately, I've been using 'super lube' synthetic grease as an oxide preventative - it's ptfe based. I heard somewhere that silicon based oil was used to coat the M1 garands, Thanks!

@jeronimobetanzos8789 it's literally called 'Super Lube'. Supposedly a replacement for bearing grease. I don't know that this is the answer, but it's my current long-term anti-oxidation solution.

Why are there No tuner or program ers using ecu flash the software is super easy and free works with tactrixs cable obd2 to usb its super easy I want to try a rom and bin for a chevy In my library and see if that will work as ceddy mod or hondata with the chevy would be super easy and nice

The reason the gun industry wants you to use gun oil is because it costs more, they make big profits on small amounts. Buy a quart of any good brand synthetic motor oil and you’re saving $$$ and lubing your firearms.

I have to pause sometimes to get the order of OBD correct (not as much as PVC and PCV). But I noticed that in your code you have ODB..., do you have problems where in one place you used ODB and another OBD for the same variable/function? I could see that leading to a lot of extra debugging time. :-(

may work well but it causes cancer and you aren't wearing gloves... yikes. Mineral oil is non toxic. you're spraying cancer causing droplets into your lungs when you shoot. use Ballistol or other non toxic gun lube. I use Ballistol to clean and ALG go juice. mineral oil is safe for skin and can be used on leather and knives you can oil your knives and cut food and eat it. I could just use Ballistol but the ALG go juice doesn't get thicker in the cold like motor oil or most lubricants that thicken and gum up when cold. Never use grease on a gun it holds onto powder fouling and it will jam your gun if you shoot a lot. Nice 1911 BTW. Love S&W.

Question about your app versions linked above. I have an ELM 327 dongle in my hand, is your app capable of sniffing can bus commands and also sending them with just my phone/tablet/etc and this dongle? Thankyou in advance!

The ELM327 is not that great at monitoring. But, the can app should be able to allow you some access. I've added a link - because of your question. Look in the description again for the word 'Experimental' that's a link to another apk file. Go to 'user commands' under 'other data' - this is the so-called bi-directional page where you can customize your commands. PLEASE BE CAREFUL... I have messed up some things by blindly sending commands into the ECUs of my own cars. I had to get a GM tool just to fix something I messed up. Again, BE CAREFUL... Thanks!

@Roudter can you recommend a better, more specific tool/interface module that could be utilized for can bus sniffing and sending can bus commands? I am doing an engine swap between completely different vehicles that both utilize can bus. End goal is to build a seperate module to intercept can bus signals from module A, translate them, and resend to module B, seamlessly.

Bidirectional is not only sending and receiving, it the ability to actual manipulate the vehicle... i.e the ability to activate a window, door locks, lights, trunk...must OBD2 readers don't do that unless you spend big bucks🤑
