This was the "I Quit" game from Jay Cutler. Jay Cutler had flashes of brilliance during his career, he just never had the hunger for a championship, he never had the eye of the tiger. The fact that he could just stand there on the sideline while the superbowl was on the line is disgusting, Favre was the opposite, guy would have to be on a stretcher to be kept out of a game this big.

After the Packers went up 14-0, I thought this was going to be a blowout. Never dreamed that I'd end up stewing in anxiety until the last minute of the game. Or that Rodger's greatest contribution would be that touchtown-saving tackle on Urlacher after his interception. If he went all the way, that would have been back-breaking for the Packers!

Our defense won us this game. Oh how times have changed.
@bar0nv0nstrubel576 жыл бұрын
Isn't it so weird thinking about it now? Our defense was OUTSTANDING in that postseason. They had like, 7 interceptions in the playoffs? Rodgers didn't throw a TD in this game and threw 2 INTs (granted the one wasn't his fault) and yet the defense still held the Bears to only 14 points to take the game. When the offense struggled, the defense stepped up and played lights out. And to think the team itself did all this with 19 players on IR. The amount of veteran depth they had was incredible. I'm very hopeful for this upcoming season with a lot of Gutekunst's additions as GM, because if the team can get back to the way it played in 2010, it'd be unstoppable. Just imagine the 2010 defense with the 2011 offense. That's an undefeated team.

"Defense wins championships"...there is a reason why the '10 Packers, '11 Giants, '13 Seahawks, '15 Broncos, etc...all win, good defenses win games, great defenses win championships

"Dom Capers tremendous flexibility within that defense." Very amusing to hear that now 9 years later.
@stephensporman8206 Жыл бұрын
Capers was carried by his players. There was at least 1 pro bowl/all pro player at every level of that defense in 2010. Raji, Clay, Hawk, Tramon, Shields, Collins. All studs. When Collins nearly broke his neck the year after the defense was never the same.

Greatest loss in Bears history. You can never take this one away and you can never say "that was the past". This was the championship of championships between these two teams. The Packers came into Soldier Field and earned the trophy with the Bears' legendary coach's name on it right in front of all their faces, while setting the tone to go bring home the Lombardi the following game. The Packers officially won the rivalry this day. No other Packer / Bear face off comes close.

Tramon Williams vs Atlanta, Pick 6. B.J. Raji vs Chicago, Pick 6. Nick Collins in the Super Bowl vs Pittsburgh, Pick 6. Helluva run by our Top 5 defense during that stretch that brought the Lombardi back home. Our defense hasn't been the same since, especially after we lost Collins to the career ending neck injury. Our current group shown promise last season, hopefully they can put it together to give us a Top 10 defense (or better) once again.
