The music in Star Wars is like it’s own character and the fact that many of these new Disney projects leave that character out is a shame. This is a wonderful edit

Man seeing this with Duel of the Fates reminded me of Dave Filoni talking about the Duel of Fates "He's fighting for Anakin, and that's why it's the Duel of the Fates," Filoni said. "It's the fate of this child. And depending on how this fight goes, his life is going to be dramatically different" I think it would have been the perfect song for this scene considering Obi Wan is fighting for Luke and Leia like Qui Gon was fighting for Anakin.

It’s crazy af how I literally JUST did this in my living room before I saw it was already up on KZfaq lol 😏 hell yeah. Glad I’m not the only one who wanted to hear Duel of Fates over this new badass fight. Rematch of the century! Fight was intense from start to finish omg, shit was crazy. 🤯

This is a good callback to episode 1, in which the fate they were dueling for was whether or not they would return to train the chosen one. This time around, the real fate is the destruction of Obi-Wan, or his catharsis of realizing all this wasn’t his fault.

Fucking pure goosebumps. Injecting this song into this fight would have truly turned the scene into pure GOLD. It was a great fight but the music just sort of worked rather than pushed the scene further.

“I’ve been looking forward to this”

Darth adjusting his hand grip (seeing his fingers adjust on the saber twice there) is the most intuitively human movement we've ever seen from Darth in live action. We've never seen him unassured of his grip, ever. It's just something that caught my eye, and does melt away some of that veneer of Darth Vader just being the suit. It's a moment where you see that while he is more machine than man, the man is still there. You don't see those types of movements or glimmers in the Original Trilogy. Maybe the closest other one (other than him being unmasked by Luke at his request), is the double take he does between Luke and the Emperor when Luke is being pelted with force lightning, and he makes the decision to grab the Emperor.

That’s definitely something this episode really was missing was this song during the final fight scene

This proves the genius of John Williams scores and the effect they have on the mood and emotion of the scene.

You don't understand, after I watched this I loaded up spotify and this exact scene and played it Duel of Fates in sync with the clip, if we're all here, we all knew what was missing

this edit really gives you the chills. It was really a bonehead decision by Kathleen Kennedy to not allow John Williams to score this duel. She didn't want this series to sound cinematic and wanted to keep it downsized to a TV series. A totally missed opportunity to make it more epic with the right musical score.

They REALLY need to use more Star Wars scores in these damn shows, there is a serious lack of music to add to the drama unfolding. A shame. Not to mention the nostalgia factor.

I noticed that 0:40 was a mirror to the scene in the prequels when Obi-Wan was training with Anakin in Coruscant

Some have said 'the fates have already been decided,' and that is indeed the outcome of the battle, but in a sense the duel of the fates has now shifted from Anakin to Luka and Leia. Had 'Darth' won and killed Kenobi here, he'd likely continue after the rebel ship and find Leia, later Luke, training them once he learned they're his children (maybe he feels this through the Force). Or Reva could have captured Luke to try and lure Vader, who knows.

What a sad pathetic world we live in when a simple edit from a fan on KZfaq elevates content from a billion dollar company to a totally new level of quality and emotion.

Instant fucking chills

This could have taken an already great fight and made it epic. Use the music, concentrate on the fight from start to finish, not cutting away to Reva, and then when Obi Wan leaves he gets that future sense that he spoke of in Phantom Menace and sets off for Tattoine, at which point Reva's story could cut in and run through also uninterrupted. It would have stopped that jarring effect of jumping from one place to the other and the music could have tied it together.

When it was revealed that Obi Wan Kenobi would have John Williams as music composer i was expecting this song to play in a fight or at least something similar i was kind of dissapointed

I can actually see why they didn’t re use it for the final fight. It doesn’t line up w/ some of the fighting since obi wan is slick old & not the same fighter as in Ep 3. If it was faster pasted (even tho this fight was amazing to watch) it would’ve worked

they didnt use the original music because the writing, the acting, and the choreography is no where even in the same planet as the art George created....George spent months meticulously getting details perfect for his films....disney doesnt care....so with this beautifully crafted music as the background by John, the scene pales in comparison....thus the reason Disney doesnt use the music.
