SPOILER REVIEW ALERT! If you have not seen this episode please go watch it now and come back to enjoy our reaction.
Expectations we’re naturally high for this Star Wars story. But we have to admit we did not expect to meet little Leia!! And what a powerhouse actress Vivien Lyra Blair has turned out to be and she’s only 10 yrs old!
This episode takes us into the heart of Kenobi and we get a good sense of the firm grip the Empire has on all the systems that it rules over. And the Jedi are hunted down, in a way that resembles the dictatorships of our own dark history.
It begins with Order 66 as a group of younglings attempt to get out of the temple in Coruscant. We speculate now that the older youngling turns into the hardened Reva, Third Sister, the inquisitor eager to capture Obi-Wan.
As the pursuit gets hot for Obi-Wan we see he’s but a simple man, doing nothing but his routine in order to blend in with the regular civilian life.
All of that changes when Little Leia is taken from Alderaan. Could this kidnapping be a trap set by none other than the impulsive Third Sister, willing to break Imperial laws in order to capture her prey: Kenobi?
Bail, Leia’s adopted father, insists for Obi-Wan to help save Leia. And despite all his inclination that this whole thing is a trap he cannot help but agree: He’s Her only Hope.
So we see Obi-Wan dig up his old saber from a wooden box, the same box he shows Luke in A New Hope?
As the credits roll we get a sense that the chase is only beginning…and Obi-Wan is barely in his proper Jedi form.
