Wade's death was important because it marked a change - he was likely one of the first to die for the resistance. They are now soldiers, as was said.

His death is also important in relation to what I said in the last episode analysis.: "Anyone else notice how the Episode titles are titled as "parts", but are listed in Roman Numerals? So we're going to get Episode I, II, III, IV, V, and VI. And it seems, so far, that each of these episodes have had thematic, and sometimes scenic, reflections of their movie counterparts." Part III had Obi-Wan and Anakin face off, one one get burned and dragged away by comrades. THIS Episode has Obi-Wan infiltrating an Imperial Base communicating remotely with someone else who was running the operation, while trying to rescue Leia from the Empire. It also ended with an ally sacrificing themselves in order for everyone else to get away. I mean, Obi-Wan's help was even someone disguised as part of the Empire, just like Han and Luke.

If you ask me it follows Star Wars tradition. Look how they were able to sneak around the original Death Star. It sets the tone for how easy it was to fool the empire.

Apparently official word is that the glass in the fortress is intentionally weak in case Jedi or force sensitives need to be eliminated while trying to escape. They are willing to drown their own stormtroopers in order to prevent prisoners from escaping. Now there's definitely a weakness in how Obi Wan infiltrated the fortress being the same way Cal Kestis got in the first fortress, but as we know the Empire never learns anything and doesn't revise their blueprints to eliminate weaknesses EVER.

The “moment for wade” for me was more of a realisation for the characters that they are now in a war, before this the effort against the empire hadn’t seen bloodshed, Wade I think is the first death of the rebellion?

definitely the first death in this group of the rebellion! that was how i saw it too with the "guess you're soldiers now" line. also I don't think there even formerly IS a rebel alliance yet. it did feel like maybe they meant to give wade a bit more screentime that got cut, but i think the point came across

Also... Wade was obviously a close friend (maybe even partner) of the one flying the other speeder? It was a heart felt moment for them for that reason too (possibly) 🤔🤷

I imagine that, at least for the sake of an academic discussion, the difference between a bomb and a fuel cell is just the time scale. It is a container that holds a material with high potential energy. One releases that energy over time while the other releases it all at once.

I'm a little surprised that no one is making the connection to the cloning program. We know that Palpatine is working on trying to find the right method to make clones with full force powers, so I would guess these bodies are being stored at least partially for that purpose.

I agree. The creepiness of the tomb made me wish Rey was just genetically created and was found in a tank as a child. Would have been a better story to connect.

In the Citadel infiltration arc in Clone Wars, they “hide” from organic scanners by freezing themselves in carbonite, so Erik’s point about the honeycomb being so they can be bait definitely has merit

I always wondered about that citadel carbonite sequence because when solo gets carbon frozen they said they weren’t sure if organic material could be frozen alive

Seems pretty obvious that "The Path" is analogous to The Underground Railroad. Interpreting it in that light I would imagine it is not a singular path so much as a network of underground freedom fighters working together to help move persecuted peoples (Jedi) out of dangerous places to safe havens. Not a singular, specific location. As far as where these safe havens are I don't think it's a stretch to look to the example from the original trilogy of Yoda taking refuge on Dagobah specifically because the planet was "strong in the force", masking his own force signature, allowing him to be camouflaged there and evade detection from force sensitive Jedi hunters. I imagine other refugee Jedi are hiding on similar planets.

So far it's basically been all about saving Leia. My hope for the series was to have the main focus on the prequels characters like Qui-Gon and really look into Obi-Wan's regrets and also Vaders struggles

I dont know why you’d think disney writers are able to write complex stories. Look at mando as great as the series is the plot & themes are so basic. I think the Jedi tomb are the Jedi the Inquisitors capture, preserved while they were still alive. Almost like they wanted to see the fear in each Jedi's final moments. Marching passed these trophies, inspiring their cause.

Darth Vader legitimately freaked me out when he stormed in. Obviously he’s one of the scariest, most dangerous villains but I’ve never seen him that angry. That tomb scene left me with my jaw dropped.

I think that the long silence for Wade was to symbolize the first death of what would eventually be the rebel alliance. That’s how I took it. It was still weird but I feel like that is what they were going for.

Han, Luke, Leia and Chewie got by supposedly eagle-eyed Imperial officers on the Death Star, and there's a small snippet of that actually left in ANH, that was in the lost cut.

@@sfodd1979 They weren't bumbling fools. They were just victims of the cliche that the good guys have to live so they don't get shot or were prone to Jedi mind tricks. There is that one scene where a Storm Trooper hit his head but that wasn't intentional. It was a mess up in filming that they didn't bother correcting. I am ok with this series but OMG Tala taking out two storm troopers by playing with their masks ... that was the worst fight choreography on 4 decades at least. There are just writing issues. Boba Fett had even worse problems just with the whole concept. Mandalorian is by far the best one EASILY. I don't think they will turn this one around in a couple episodes. Not much progress since the multiple slicing meat scenes. It's not as bad as Boba Fette which just had one good episode minus the snuck in Mandalorian episodes. Not suppose to be goofy ... high adventure very much so. Slicing meat and skipping therapy for 10 years ... not really the best choices. It could be worse though. It could have been so much better.

I'm pretty sure the amber the jedi are in is the same amber Luminari Unduli was in in Star Wars Rebels, which was used by the Gramd Inquisitior to lure Kanan Jariss and Ezra. So I definitely agree that they're in there to lure more jedi to them

I'm pretty sure it's Hayden in the Vader suit. I've seen many interviews with Hayden & Evan talking about acting face to face (mask, lol.) Unless there's some big stunts, why wouldn't they use him?!?

I think the issue with having Hayden in the Vader suit is that Darth Vader is like 7 feet tall. But in interviews, Hayden did say that he had a “Darth Vader choreographer” who taught him how to walk like Darth Vader would.

What if the path leads to places like Dantooine, old worlds that have Jedi ties but have fallen out of the public eye, mining worlds like Crait also make sense since those worlds are just under the radar for everyone like how Cal was hiding on Brakka.

I think it's accurate to say they're trophies because I belive they're the first force user killed by each inquisitor. A few masters and what looks like a guard from the temple, but also villagers possibly from their homeworlds.

I think the reason the fortress juts out of the water is because of the amount of ships it has to house? That makes the most sense to me, and if they have that many people on the fortress/station then they would have a way to keep the ships there too?

It would be amazing if the Jedi who hid via the path took it to Ahch-To and survived. Then they hid there until Luke started his academy. Could help explain why Luke went there himself after Ben's fall. However, it would have to only be a few Jedi like Quinlan, Cal, Gungi, maybe even Ezra.

Luke didn’t start a Jedi temple on Ahch-To. He went there to run away and cut himself off from The Force.

@@xxcrobarxx5369 I didn't say that's where his academy was. Just that they were hiding there until he started his academy. Luke hid their himself and that's how he would get the idea to hide there.

I saw the fortress as the hubris of the empire. No shields, no real gun banks and just the infighting that Talla was able to exploit there. Plus it would be like the empire to not buy the shielding in those tunnels that caused that water break.

I felt the moment of silence was more of a character difference between the crew on Ben’s ship and the Empire … the (future) Rebellion is more apt to care for a fallen comrade and pay their respects as opposed to the Empire is trained to just accept that everyone will die and they will be replaced by another body.

I realized that they were trying to all fit in a single T47 and had to rewind it. Of course they cut away as they are all getting in, but I did notice that there was an extra part to the cockpit on the back of that specific ship. Almost like an "extended cab" version of the T47. Reminds me of being 16 and trying to fit 5 or 6 of my friends and I into a 4 door sedan and hoping we don't pass by a cop lol.

My argument for alive or at least not the corpses of the dead, is that they don’t seem battle damaged. No scorch marks or missing limbs that I noticed

@@johansmallberries9874 I saw some blast marks on Tera sinube so some of them at least are definitely dead. If some are alive, and some are dead, that could make sense, but maybe the jedi that are closer to the entrance and exit are dead and the ones in the middle are actually alive. Think about the inquisitors taking younglings down here passing jedi that they possibly knew. The inquisitors would definitely pause before sinube and mention him by name and talk about his death. Possibly a stroll through the jedi and some of them could more definitively be alive/dead before strapping them to the rack to torture them.

In this era of Star Wars people weren't put in Carbonite, because that wasn't really introduced until Vader put Solo in Carbonite in Emires Strikes Back to test to be sure Luke would survive the process... then he was hung in Jabba'sTemple... where we all know is filled with bounty hunters which then they put into practice.

When you sit back and watch a Star Wars story, there should be heartfelt moments driven by a character's journey. Instead we're getting pretty lights and a lot of irrelevant side quests, that will likely amount to nothing. We know that Luke lives, we know that Leia lives, we know that Obi-Wan lives... Four episodes in and a story still has not been established.

I thought Obi-Wan sneaking around the fortress had a lot of similarities to episode 4 when he snuck around the original death star. So it wasn't so campy as it was familiar. Cool episode even w the trenchcoat.

The “stand in” for Vader’s IS Hayden. Hayden Christiansen is the one in the Darth Vader costume the whole time. It’s not a separate actor.

Trechcoat was crazy but my head canon says that obi-wan is getting stronger in his reconnection to the force. His disguise doesn’t have to be perfect, but he needs to put in some effort in order to minimally pull off the Jedi mind trick. “All normal here everyone.”

I think the kids were captured, reva was one of them. In recruitment, they had the opportunity to not be killed if they killed the other kids. And reva might have done that

Not quite. It's really just the newer content. The original trilogy is somewhat that way too, yes. But things such as the Clone Wars or the prequel trilogy and so on, all that's not quite in that same boat. But Disney has really been dropping the ball on us with this last couple of shows.

I think he will demand a tighter hold on the inquisitors that limits their powers and numbers, but thats about all that happens and bail and leia start working with the path, creating the first true rebel cells. in andor wed probably see mothma creating hers and eventually we get to the point of rebels. but in rebels we see a very blue colored bail and his cell so maybe this is the start.
