Hi Chris, thank you for reviewing Obico for Klipper! You were spot on that our failure detection is still not perfect! Just a teaser - we are experimenting with a drastically different way of failure detection that seems to have the potential of detecting certain types of failures, specifically, bed detachment and air printing, much more quickly and more reliably. Been using SD/Obico for about 2 years and I LOVE it! Being able to remotely monitor my prints and be able to end them if they should fail has been great! In fact, monitoring a print running in my office on the App right now! Whoo hoo!

The Spaghetti Detective was a great name and I suspect people will continue to call it that or Obico Spaghetti Detective, I used it for a while but my camera view on the main screen of Octoprint (Marlin) failed after about 5 mins but was fine on Dashboard, I tried removing some of my plugins but the fault continued so I removed Spagg.Det. and the fault has still continued to this day, this is on a 3B+, I have another instance running on an Orange Pi Zero 2 without Spag.Det. and it runs fine, I am going to add The Spaggheti detective again to an instance with no plugins and add the plugins I use one at a time per day just to see if it is a particular plugin that is at fault.

Been running it on a Jetson Nano as my own server for a few years now. Has stopped a few prints in that time.

Am curious to learn more about the self hosting version. I have seen other reviews and supposedly if you host the software is free. Since I'm at home most of the time, I monitor my printers as they print or from my computer area, so would not benefit as much as others

I'm amazed that the Obico algorithm doesn't see the mass (printed object) move when it shifted, that seems like a really easy thing to track... (an average of the last 100 frames shows the object was here but now it's there)

Why would you run this on the cloud if you can run it locally? Does the locally running version have the same 10h limit for free or is it not limited in that case? I personally do not want remote control via a service like this (I'll setup my own secure VPN, thank you), but would like having some pattern recognition trying to detect spaghetti in parallel and sending me a message if it thinks something is wrong.

No, the self-hosted Obico server doesn't have limitation on the hours. People often cite a few reasons for choosing the cloud over the self-hosted: 1. Cost - unless you already have a server running 24x7, running one can cost you more on electricity than paying for the cloud's Pro plan; 2. Skills and risks - with Obico cloud you can access your printer anywhere without the required skills to securely set up your self-hosted server for remote access.

everytime i try to install it i just get /home/mks/printer_data/config doesn't exist or can't be changed. Any advice?

Could be a permissions problem. Try running this sudo chmod 777 /home/mks/printer_data/config

Shame it wasn't set up differently. Like you bolt down the camera at a specific angle(would work better for corexy), then print some calibration shapes for the AI to understand where it is in relation to the print surface and it could then see if the printed gcode looks even remotely as it should. Like if you are printing a benchy then at layer 50 it should have a certain shape but if it instead looks like a blob then the AI should know it has failed.
