We finally had a day of nice weather here in Michigan so I was able to get the motor and transmission installed into the truck with no trouble at all. I am glad that I removed the front end and radiator support because I am convinced that there is no way that I would have gotten the engine And trans in there from the top without damaging the truck and the motor.
I had to get some assistance from my floor jack to lift the front of the engine up in order for the stock 5.3 oil pan to clear over the OBS engine crossmember, but once the oil pan was past the crossmember, the engine and transmission practically fell right into place.
I still need to replace the rubber transmission mount before I really lock everything down but we will go over that in the next one.

Following I’m doing the same swap. The wiring is what I’m concerned about I’ve read. All the lt1 swap guides. And what not. If you can document all the wiring information that’d be great

I will do my best but I’ve already been looking into the wiring aspect of this swap and with my truck being a 1996, some of my trucks pin outs are different from those listed on LT1Swap. Not by much but I am finding little differences. Also, I would like to add that this is my First attempt at a motor swap let alone an LS swap, so I am learning as I go so although I am doing my best and researching everything I can find, there is still plenty of possibility of me making a mistake. I’m not a professional by any means, I am just doing this to challenge myself and learn and I am documenting my journey so it may be able to help out other people in the future. Fingers crossed that I can get this truck figured out and running but I’m already encountering setbacks such as the wiring differences and I am having to re-do my entire fuel system from tank to intake.

@@siTTinLo can’t you use the stock pump I believe they said works and use the corvette fuel filter. For the return our return less fuel system. Someone said you can use the stock pumps I believe the older tbi pumps was different mines w 97 v8.
