In this video we reinstall both our truck harness as well as the engine harness and bolt the intake manifold back into the engine and finalize the wiring by adding out three wire engine coolant temp sensor for our stock OBS gauge to function.
I went about removing the brake master cylinder from the booster which allows you to simply drop in your wiring harness down and through rather than fishing and fighting with all of the plugs to get your get them past the brake lines. This is much easier but you do need to be careful not to kink or break your brake lines.
I then tested the wiring and found out that there was a gremlin or two that needed to be sorted out but after a few hours and a simple google search, I realized that a simple ground wire being disconnected was my problem.
When I turn on the left turn signal my windshield wipers turned on. Same thing with the hazard lights. When I turn the hazard lights on the wipers turned on. Well the problem turned out to be a ground wire on the drivers side of the engine compartment that normally bolts to the radiator support that was disconnected. I reconnected the ground wire and it worked normal after that so I suppose that one or more of the functions was trying to draw its ground source through either the bulb or the other appliances like the wiper motor.
Either way, I’m glad that I got that sorted out and that everything seems to be functioning normally. I even got to hear baby breath her first breaths as well. It’s starting to come along. In the next series we will focus on the fuel system.
