I dont get the slide show view. My recordings keep showing powerpoint like when I first opened it.

Open your PPT in presentation mode, then use Alt+Tab keys going to OBS to start the recording. Then use Alt+Tab keys back to the PPT presentation mode. Start your speeches. When you are done. Use Alt+Tab keys back to OBS to end the recording.

When working with Windows 10 and MS Powerpoint, I found that the current release of OBS Studio (29.0.0) would not work in Window Capture to record powerpoint slide show mode, as per the instructions in the video. Here's the work around that was successful for me. Instead of using Window Capture, use Display Capture. This captures the entire screen. I only work with a single screen, so for those of you with multiple screens, I don't have a validation this will work, but it feels more intuitive.

Nope. Display capture doesn't see the ppt file in Win 11

I managed to make it work When adding the window capture, select the slide show window AND change the capture method from automatic to windows 10

i can open ppt and have it show in preview but when i full screen my ppt it just shows the ppt in the editor. it won't show my slides. what am i doing wrong?

How about. I record my powerpoint presention while discussing it. And then after recording. I wwatch the ssaved file. I found a problem like the audio and the powerpoint is not syncing There is a delay

followed the video to a T and does not record presentation mode. i even went into NVIDIA and added the program with high performance thinking maybe that would do it. I use the subscription PPT, is that the issue?

If I have a video playing in PowerPoint and am recording in OBS, I get an encoding overload error. How do I adjust the video settings for PowerPoint? I have already tried adjusted my main video settings in the "video " section.... PowerPoint seems to overload even on screen transitions, but I don't seem to have any issues using Google slides.... any thoughts?

This is plain wrong. Powerpoint uses DIFFERENT WINDOWS for the full-screen slideshow v the editor, so if you want OBS to capture the slides only, you MUST start running the slideshow in Powerpoint, then go back to OBS and add the "Powerpoint Slide Show" window as a source.
