I had to design a PCV system for a dry sump LT4 project, and it was not obvious. It would be interesting if you were to discuss: maintaining vacuum in the crankcase when not under boost, fresh air intake, catch can integration (particularly if a DI engine), dealing with the air volume generated by the scavenge stage, how the system works under boost to relieve increased crankcase pressure, and the use of one-way valves. Removal of contaminates from the crank case (and oil) is a critical part of engine longevity that many builders do not seem to appreciate.

Thanks for the video I love the obs look forward to more content on them I have a 1993 GMC Sierra long bed WT model I'm putting the 5.3 in it hopefully Lord willing

Pretty badass, how do you determine the size, is it close to the stock size or just the bigger the better?

Well the more the better in this case. But this is as big as we could fit. It don’t remember the volume that Zack calculated but I think it was nearly 2 gallons.

This is a vent to atmosphere catch can right? Don't you want a vacuum pull through the catch can to relieve crankcase pressure or is this not a worry on forced induction engines? Trying to figure this out on my NA 454 carbureted engine without pulling oily air back into the carb or intake. I seem to have significant blowby and w/ just 2 valve cover breathers I don't think the pressure is escaping.

This is just the fresh air side of the system. There is vacuum drawn on the valley plate port which has an orifice to regulate the amount of vacuum drawn on the crankcase.

@@level7motorsports thanks for that, I clearly need to do some more research. Love the channel and the builds guys, inspired me to buy an 86 SB and start wrenching! I'll be hitting you up when the time comes to add a 3rd pedal to my setup!
