Very nice outcome! The engines were exported to Poland, but also built in Poland as license version called PZL Pegaz. The elements under wings are oil coolers. Doesn't the model miss the navigation lights? ;) Greetings from Poland! There is a film on my channel "PZL.37 Łoś i Las Dłutowski" showing a crash site memorial and a different approach to what the colors might have been, as nobody knows how did the PZL 37 truly look like.

@@ModellingWeekly I don't want to be annoying, but as I have watched this video for the second and third time, I have a feeling the khaki colour is a little bit too pale. It's a difficult thing with Polish aeroplanes colours because for many years they were considered as khaki and light blue (close to RLM65). Now it's more like more brownish khaki - the closest to this shade is Hataka. But you know... the situation is similar to Soviet aeroplanes from ww2... for years it was accepted they were brown and green until some closer researches proved their colours were different. It doesn't change my point of view, that your model is awesome :)

@@scalemodellerbyaccident8671 I totally agree, I think the shade is a bit off. Had loads of different sources with slightly different shades, so just thought f*ck it and went for the tamiya colour lol

@@ModellingWeekly Yeah, sometimes it's not worth of wasting your life for searching a perfect shade. Btw. I always stick to Tamiya and Mr.Hobby acrylics but I decided to give a chance AK's 3rd gen water acrylics. In couple of weeks I'll be wiser about this experience.

A very interesting subject you don’t see very often. I like the choice of post shading. Looks much better. There are also stencils for sale which can give very nice weathered effects. Though the Infinity (I presume you use) does a very good freehand job. Giving the airplane a totally realistic appearance. It’s almost a shame that I build tanks. You’re very good in the braille scale. Making the model look like a much larger scale.
@ModellingWeekly

Thank you very much! I have seen a few of those random texture stencils before, always mean to try them out! Thanks again!
@anyblunder6782
@anyblunder6782 2 жыл бұрын
@@ModellingWeekly you’re welcome. They work especially well when applied sparsely in a slightly lighter shade of paint. Just like you did with highlights on those panels. They can be bought from Vallejo and AK in a kind of plastic or vinyl and then there are those made out of paper or cardboard. My experience is that they work really well when you build planes. Due to the large surface of the wings. I’ve also seen stencils for Luftwaffe camouflage patterns. Anyone who ever built one of those planes know that these patterns are virtually impossible to airbrush with a freehand. I’m not certain if they can be bought in 1/72 scale. I’ve not used them myself. I hope you’ll be able to get them and try it out. Cheers, Any.

Nice build. Does anyone know the reason why the national insignia on the upper starboard wing of Polish aircraft is offset to the centre of the span rather than being closer to the wing tip as on the port wing?
@dewygreen4646
@dewygreen4646 Жыл бұрын
Their asymmetrical placement made it difficult to assess the distance and course of the aircraft, as well as resulted in reflexive aiming at a point centrally located between them (thus reducing the likelihood of hitting a vulnerable engine or cockpit) Of course, this did not protect against a hit, but it increased the chances of avoiding it.

Nice paint job but the build needs more attention; the gaps in the wing roots for example. Did you also forget to put in the wing lights, or do they just not show up properly on the video?
@ModellingWeekly
@ModellingWeekly 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the wing root gaps were intentional, as there would be a panel line at that section anyway, and I would rather leave them than ruin the surrounding detail with filling and sanding. It's not the best thing to do, I admit, but it was calculated to a certain extent. In regards to the lights, I have just realised I forgot to glue them in! Ill do that now lol. Thanks for letting me know 😂

I think, the olive drab is too light. Hugo Jäger, a German propaganda photographer, made some color photos in late 1939 of captured Polish aircraft, among them several PZL 37 light bombers. These factory-fresh aircraft, which had been sabotaged to various degrees, carried dark khaki on the uppersides (similar to FS 30097, according to IPMS Stockholm) and a silverish paint on the lower surfaces. A bit annoying is the omnipresent stain on the aircraft. Is it really necessary to finish EVERY aircraft model, as if it stood unprotected in the open for several months? A bit more fantasy, please!
@ModellingWeekly
@ModellingWeekly 3 жыл бұрын
I agree the khaki is too light. In answer to your question about weathering aircraft, it's to make it somewhat interesting to look at. I don't know about you, but I think it looks a lot more dynamic with the distressing than without :)
