Marquan Washington, the ex-cellmate of Wisconsin accused murderer Zachariah Anderson, told the jury about the time Anderson described to him how he murdered Rosalio Gutierrez, Jr. in May 2020. "Once it's gone, it's gone," Washington said in describing Anderson's explanation of how he got rid of Gutierrez's body.

I think it honestly depends on the case. One of the Mark Jensen informants was extremely credible. Since it was a retrial after something like a decade, he had also turned his life around and ran his own business and was going to school. This witness isn't great. But their credibility is decided by the jury, and the defense could do an easy job of ripping him to shreds if the story is implausible.

I don't understand this blind loyalty to evil doers, why is it assumedly forgivable to do the evil, but completely unforgivable to tell someone about the evil doer? Don't we teach you, our children to tell the truth? How do our children grow up and change that into some kind of us against them? Law enforcement, the courts, anyone trying to obtain the truth and hold the perpetrator accountable, is the "bad guy" or a snitch..while the perpetrator enjoys a protection he does not deserve. It's as if that thought process helps maintain perpetual children who are at first hiding things from Mom &Dad, then from teachers and employers, finally from law enforcement and jailers. It's sad.

Whether the guys guilty or innocent… is another convict actually a credible witness? He’s not talking about a conversation he had with him. He’s talking about a dream. He heard the defendant having. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not defending this Anderson guy, but this was a huge case and I’m sure this man knew that and he could be saying things just to get out of the cell for a few hours a day or because he’s the type of person that wants to be involved in a big case and look like he’s helping by being a hero. I think it was really risky for the prosecution to put a convict on the stand over a dream that may or may not have actually happened.

@leafyfififoo
@leafyfififoo Жыл бұрын
There is a comment made by the judge later on this same day about that, something to do with the appellate court not liking them iirc. It's either an objection/discussion there & then or kick the jury out & they argue in "private".
@KnittingArtisan
@KnittingArtisan Жыл бұрын
@@leafyfififoo The appellate court doesn’t like them? Shocker. I just don’t understand why the attorneys don’t just approach the bench. Sidebar. Jury doesn’t have to leave. Arguments had in private. Win/win. Edited to add that after being in chat and reading everyone’s disdain for the way the judge was handling this case, I thought the previous commenter was saying the appellate court didn’t like the judge and his court. My bad! 😂

@@KnittingArtisan Did you read what that person said? The judge doesn't want them to. Discussion had in sidebar does not make the record. The outcome does - the conversation does not. Everyone is different and do different things when they are lying. First you need to get a person's base line before judging if they are lying or not. If you don't understand what I mean by baseline, it is to see how someone acts when they are not lying and how they act when they are lying. When I received polygraphs the tester at the three letter agency I worked for would ask me my name, age, etc. to get a baseline on my honest replies. Then they would force me to lie by saying something like "I've never driven above the speed limit" to get a baseline on my lying. You can do the same thing without a polygraph machine but you must pay very close attention to the body language to know when a person is lying or not. If you are trying to be sneaky just ask a person non threatening questions you believe that won't lie about to get a baseline on their truthful body language. But bottom line I didn't see a chance anywhere in this video to get this prisoner's baseline. At least not enough to feel confident. Just remember everyone lies different. There's no one size fits all. There is even people that can lie without feeling anything in their conscience so you can't know for sure if they are lying.
