Ocean Gravity is a short film that rewrite the rules of the underwater world and takes us this time into the world of the weightlessness.
Just like in the space, there isn’t anymore a top or a bottom. There isn’t anymore upside down and wrong side out. The ocean becomes cosmos, the man a satellite, and the bottom of the sea an unknown planet. Welcome in the fascinating universe of Ocean Gravity.
Guillaume: «since ever, my diving propels my imagination in the fantasy of the conquest of space. To touch the sea floor or to set foot on an unexplored planet, here are 2 fascinating adventures which feed my thirst of unknown. The discovery of this quite unique place (Tiputa - Rangiroa - French Polynesia), allowed us to put in image the visual closeness of 2 universes water and air, ocean and space.»

I think every free diver or spear fisherman should experience the feeling of a drift dive in relatively shallow water with high current in clear water. You really feel like you are effortlessly flying over land and it is such a mesmerizing experience that you hate the idea of having to go up for air. Great video that captures that rare experience!

It is the current. They drop you inside or outside the "pass" depending which way the tide is moving and you do float that fast. It's like floating in space only with water and fish. (been there 4 x)

This is exactly why I am so fascinated about diving. The likelihood that we will walk in space is almost zero, and we cannot fly, but we can walk in "vacuum" and "fly" in the the water world beneath us.

Merci Guillaume.

Yes, free divers can do this for several minutes before needing a breath. This likely used multiple edits but the duration of this entire video is far less than the average, unassisted free dive. I haven't tried holding my breath since young, but my own record (with little training ... I just did it because) was 3 minutes 40 seconds slow swimming multiple lengths on the bottom of an out door warm pool. I actually ended early because it scared me that I wasn't feeling like I needed air yet (I've heard of people passing out under water when attempting this so I played it safe).

Getting my advanced cert we dove 150 ft. I have never felt more insignificant in my life. Looking up to the surface you truly get the feeling that you truly are just a speck in the universe. Very humbling. Also, we were next to a ledge that dropped another 1000 ft and the thought of a true "denizen of the deep" turning me into an appetizer was tough to shake... Ha!! Sorry to burst your bubble ( pun intended) but divers use normal, but dried, compressed air. Not oxygen. And there is no such thing as a 20 min tank. Everyones breathing rate is different and heavily influenced b y depth. At 33 ft. A diver breaths double as at the surface, etc. those little pony bottles in stores can sometimes last only a few breaths at 100’. I was a diving instructor for over 30 years.

@GreatWhite7
@GreatWhite7 9 жыл бұрын
He doesnt. Some of them can stay under for 4-5 minutes while swimming. Up to 10 minutes if they dont move. Up to 20 if they use 100%O2 beforehand.
