Ocean Maya Royale Buffet and What They Served For Lunch
In this video, we're going to take a tour of the buffet at the Ocean Maya Royale at Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. As you see on this side, there are quite a few chairs. We're going to go in and look at the food. We're going to save the very best to last. So you're going to want to watch all this video to see what happens at the very end.

But we're going to look right now at the buffet area. So here are some of the cold salads they had available. As we go on, we'll see some fruit. Now, the one on the left, it was really interesting. I asked our guide what they were called and he said tuna. And I said that doesn't look like tuna to me. And he says, no, in Spanish it's tuna, but it's actually the fruit of a cactus. So there you go, tuna is a fruit of a cactus. Here are some mixed fruit and yogurt for those that like yogurt.
They had ceviche, which was nice and fresh, very tasty. These were some cold salads that were prepared. And they always had a bunch of good, fresh fruit. You know, I tried the peaches, the plums and some of the fruits that were native to that area. I thought they were all really good.
The salad bar is not huge. And these are some things that you might want to add to your salad. And in just a second, we'll see, on the other side, we'll see the actual salad bar. So here's your salad bar. Good choice of dressings.

And then there's some hot bread on either side of it. This was a sirloin they had roasted and it had some squash next to it; there was some gravy for it and some vegetables to go with it as well.
And they had salmon that was baked. My wife tried that, really liked it. Then we had a wide variety of hot dishes available and they were just pretty much anything that you could want, any type of food.
This is a grill station and I'm not really sure what they grilled here. When we did this video, we were doing it before the buffet opened. These were some dishes that were already prepared, different kinds available here. Then as we go down, we had the two soup stations. I thought I could see later the labels and they're not readable, I'm sorry. But there were two different kinds of soup available here.
And then this was pasta, different kinds of noodles that were already premixed. And then at the very end, you could get them to create fresh pasta with your choice of sauces and ingredients.

You saw the other half of this indoor seating area. There's also a large seating area out there in the Plaza. Now, as I mentioned, I did save the best for last, so you're going to want to stay till the end, but this area, right there, was some cold cuts. And then this said salsas, but it's actually just a variety of different condiments.
They had homemade bread and I'll say this, their bakers were really good because every piece of bread we had on the resort was amazing.
Then there's your ice cream bar and they've got on the right side a bunch of different toppings you can put on it.
But here's the best. They had some amazing desserts. You can see just a wide variety of desserts. We have this cake here that my wife thought was pretty interesting. And then the one that comes up next, this one that has some local fruit on it as well. You'll see a playlist that has videos from the Ocean Hotels in Playa Del Carmen and Cancun areas.
