Wow! Another masterpiece. Loved this tutorial. You make it look so effortless. Will definitely be painting this. My very first acrylic painting was another beach tutorial of yours. First painting ever. I draw and sketch never painted. I was a little depressed over the loss of a good friend and she loved the beach. I saw your tutorial and decided to give it a go. It actually turned out pretty good. Not as good as yours but not bad. Painting that piece helped to lift my spirit. I have been painting ever since. Just sold my first painting that is an original and I am giving you the credit. You are a remarkable painter and teacher. I paint for people who have experienced a loss of something or someone to hopefully lift their spirits. Even the painting that I sold was for someone who just lost her loved one. A friend commissioned me and I charged 1 US dollar. 1 of my goals was to sell a painting. My main goal is to lift someone up and hopefully put a smile on their face. This is my therapy. You have a beautiful soul. I just wanted to tell you that your tutorials and paintings inspire me. Most of all you have inspired me. Thank you so much. I really appreciate everything that you teach me.

Hi Katie! I love your calming voice and teaching methods. Truly a gift! I hope to try this one with some variations and stages. What would I like to see? A lot. ☺ I would like to see a distant ocean and sky and sand dunes. A place for sitting on the dunes with the peaceful ocean way in the background. I would like to see different birds in different positions- face on, turned to the left or right. Not Christmas or Thanksgiving birds - other birds - common ones. I'd like to see portraits with different facial positions and expressions. Those are my studies. Katie. Thank you for helping to open painting and drawing to me years ago. It has brought so much healing - and helps others. I enjoy watching your paintings, drawings and hearing you instruct. BLESSINGS to you and your family!

Katie that canvas needs a lot more gesso on it. Three coats spread with a plastic card and sanded, between each coat and a 3-hour dry time between each coat.

Hi Katie. thank you for all your hard work with tutorials. I would really love a tute on using oil paints. I am struggling with oils. I dont want to use solvents, and also im not using water mixable oil paint, just regular oil paint. Its just so different to acrylic paint and Im ready to throw in the towel with them. If you could explain how to layer and about drying times. Im totally lost with it!
