He is definitely the 1st or 2nd best shooter in the draft. But what I love about him is that he struggled early in the tourney but he turns up the defense when he struggles.

I agree. Although I feel if he got drafted the Hawks the coach wouldn't play him, he doesn't seem to like to play rookies very much

To anyone who is a Cavs' fan: Ochai will probably go down as an all-time great at Kansas, and he got better every year. I think his confidence took a big step forward his senior year, he finally started to put the athletic gifts together with skill and consistency. His PPG and 3 pt % went up every year. Coming from Kansas, you know he'll be able to defend, but I think what really helps him translate to the NBA is how well he moves without the ball on offense. I don't think he's ever going to be a primary ball handler or a guy who creates his own shot (I could be wrong, he has shown flashes of being an alpha when the pressure is high), but he's great as a 2 guard. I think in the pre-draft process his athleticism has been underrated because of his age, for whatever reason. He is 6'5" with a 6'10" wingspan and 40" vert, so there's a higher ceiling than a lot of draft pundits might have you believe. He can finish with either hand in transition and jump off either foot equally, which I don't think you see that often. Really, he needs to work on ball handling and free throw shooting, but otherwise he isn't really deficient in any one area. People slept on Devonte Graham because he stayed at KU for 4 years and he's carved out a good career so far. Agbaji was arguably better at KU (National Title and MOP) and is a better athlete. I look forward to watching how he does for you guys!

Thanks for the insight! Agbaji’s pull-ups and drives in this highlight reel make me hopeful for his role as a creator, but there might be extra pressure on his handle/shotmaking, esp. if cavs can’t bring back sexton and/or rubio. imo, shot creation was the cavs biggest weakness last season. Outside of DG, cle had [maybe] 2 guys who could get their own shot: sexton who was injured and Caris who was pretty unreliable. We even tried to let Cedi Osman run point until he basically fell out of rotation. But no matter what, Agbaji adds to our wing depth which I think is much-needed so we’ll see how it goes. Maybe playoffs this year!

Ochai went #14 in the draft because teams ahead of the Cavs were looking for players with higher ceilings to be a potential #1 option on their team. The problem is that most of the players who went ahead of Abaji will never reach that wishful projected ceiling. The Cabs didnt need to gamble on an unfinished product that had a high wishful ceiling, because they already have 2 in Garland and Mobley. Ochai is going to be the perfect role player. He fits perfectly with what the Cavs needed in a SG/SF. a non ball dominating, good decision making, 3 pts shooting defender. Ochai is going to have it soo easy in his rookie year. No pressure on him. And he will be put in soo many positions to succeed. With Garland, Mobley and Allen drawing double teams, Ochai will always have open looks.

Wow he looks really underrated in the mock drafts. Beautiful jumper, in control at all times, looks like good defense from them blocks depending how good he really is on ball but the effort and length is there. Seems like he can contribute immediately to any NBA team. Wouldn't be mad if the Knicks took him at 11 if we can't trade up.
