Kuna ka posho mill hapo on the right ukienda Kendu Bay...The posho mill has operated from the early 80s, So during this time ukienda kusiaga Kwa that particular posho mill Unga ilikuwa inakatika,for instance ukienda kusiaga gorogoro mbili unatoka na mmoja na nusu ,so our grandmothers wakirudi home ku prepare ugali walirudi wakisema moka ochot odong' e pong',hence the name "Ochot odong'. Hawa wote ume interview wamepeana their own theories but not the facts on the name " Ochot odong' "

I agree with the first gentleman, it was a market but they were kind of chased away though few remained hence the name "Ochot Odong"

The first word on that sign post is a synonym, it has two meanings. The woman and the man are just right in their explanations.... it's only depends on how you want to understand it.

The naming of such a place cannot be known to residents who are below 70 yrs. That's why you hear ridiculous stories from different people based on hearsay. The signage elicits increased interest just because of one of it's juicy connotation that is the mother of all humor.
