Hi there, thanks for watching! Today’s video will be a Haul Video for the Month of October 2023. As you all know I was gone for half of the month so during this haul theres a lot of titles I need to do reviews for and those will come shortly. This is also a some what lighter month compared to past months because of me being gone as well, most pickups are hardcovers rather than being omnibuses but we do have a WHALE in this haul. Lazarus’s world building is really well done. I love all of the details Michael Lark puts into the backgrounds. You are in for a treat with the books. I think it just gets better and better. My only complaint is that it’s been forever since the 3rd book came out. I want to know what happens!!!

I loved the Genis/Rick Captain Marvel run, and I'm glad I got the omni. Peter David scored another home run with this funny, action-packed, and emotional series, and the art by ChrisCross and friends is still great. :)

Just shot my review for this Omni and it was SUCH a fun revisit! Everything you said is spot on and I highly recommend it to a lot of people I talk to.

Couldn’t agree more about Lazarus. Absolutely great world building, excellent art and looking at how large tech corps are acting these days, who knows… great haul. I won’t bore you with mine but had a huge Marvel month and tracked down a SHIELD Omni at a decent price which has made me very happy

Hey Gary! Yeah I loved everything about the first volume ESPECIALLY the world building, it felt dark yet believable. Haha never boring hearing what people got! I love peoples Hauls! That’s Shield Omni is a great pick up especially if the price was decent.

@@Illuminerdy_ strange - I hated Steranko’s art at the time and never read SHIELD - I guess it was too avant-garde and experimental for an 8 year old! 50 years on I’m really stoked to have found a copy

Monsters is an absolute masterpiece. One of the most brilliant graphic novels I ever read. So dark, it really grabs you by the throat. What a story. One of the few books that brought tears to my eyes. You are in for a hell of a ride, my friend. Awsome haul. Earth one and Worlds finest are also on my shelf. Looking forward to the reviews. Yeah I love those series and really need to show some hardcovers some love instead of just omnibuses when it comes to the big 2

Me getting you amped are the fruits of your labor. 😂 I think you don’t read Euro comics like Tintin, Asterix or Lucky Luke? I could get you real enthusiastic for those. 😉👊🏻 I mostly buy tpb’s and hardcovers. I don’t have the patience to wait for Omni’s. 😅

The indie section here was filled with so much goodness! Grats on harpooing big dang Sin City, such classic noir comics. Absolutely love James Stokoe, you ever read his Orphan and 5 Beasts? Excellent over the top martial arts revenge story. Love all Ben Templesmith books, just sad he's not seeing any money from this new edition. And Gideon Falls is an annual horror reread! Can't wait to see you talk about these in the future!

The man and myth BUNK! Yeah I’m super happy about Sim City but man is that a big book! And no I haven’t read those titles by Stokoe but man he killed this Godzilla book so I would be interested! Ps you were another reason I got Gideon Falls, your coverage on it was top notch and SPOOOOOKKKYYYY

Having the deluxe sim city’s was the best purchase I’ve ever made. The best edition I’ve got without question. And they aren’t 100 bucks each! I’ve got 3 for 80€. 🤪

Well lucky you! 80 for 3 when it’s 7 books is still more expensive then big damn sin city so I’m still very happy I saved a decent amount of money. I personally can’t swing omnibus prices for a deluxes. That bang for buck content wise doesn’t compute in my head, same reason I stay away from absolutes. It’s good to hear your happy with your purchase tho! That’s always a win!

I don’t want to spoil your read…but my advice is to put it the top of your reading list, and avoid any online spoilers. You want be disappointed!

My Halloween was great and Right back at you Chitown! A lot of y’all are looking forward to 30 days of night so I might have to read it next. And I hear it’s 4 books because people were cheating g the system with 3 books or something, not exactly fully sure tho to be honest.

Godzilla James Stokoe Deluxe edition only collects issue 1 of Godzilla in Hell, was really disappointed when I got mine and like you say discovered it was standard HC size and didn't contain the whole in Hell run. Fingers crossed they release it at a later date in hard cover.

Godzilla in Hell is a 5 issue run. You can get a TPB called Godzilla Unnatural Disasters which collects three series: Legends, In Hell, and Rage Across Time! Only just discovered this myself, but like you I only collect hard covers, keeps me from spending way too much and puts my will power to the test 🙂@@Illuminerdy_

I’m watching and fully caught up on the anime but I do wish sometimes I was reading it before I started watching it. I typically have a hard time reading something I watched especially if the anime is a mostly faithful adaption like one piece minus a few filler episodes that I skipped.
