It is a one of the few OP Devil Fruits, but I am thinking the NIka Devil Fruit tops her's. From the reasoning on why the Giant Robot can no longer find Joy Boy because Luffy is not in Gear 5, means only one thing; Joy Boy was in Gear 5 all the time; meaning Luffy can stay in Gear 5 if he knew how to do it. Luffy is doing something wrong when activating Gear 5. For example: Doflamingo did not have the same problem when using his awakening form and could possibly go in and out or stay in it for a long long time. Luffy is not using Gear 5 effectively like he should be. So, he is doing something wrong when using it.

It seems like a lot of people forgot or didn’t see how Bonnie’s devil fruit works. She can alter herself into any future version she perceives as possible. She is just a kid so in her mind she could easily grow up to be like Nika or a giant because she doesn’t understand that that is not how aging works. Like Saturn said, her knowledge of the future affects her abilities.

Him being able to buff his allies and share his "Freedom" or "Liberate" them from their limitations to fight more freely to some extent would make a lot of sense. This is only a surprising narrative if you aren't paying attention to or comprehending the story, which judging by that take seems to be the case.

But generally speaking, these sorts of random power-ups(which are so common in bad writing that it's almost a meme) are done to create a bridge between the point we are at now, and the point we need to be. It's really not the best way to tell a story, but we have a situation where the One Piece world has become too big, there is an anime that keeps chasing Oda and is right on its tail, and his own health issues, all of it making it super hard to do more than what he is doing right now. I honestly believe what we are getting now is quite amazing and we will just have to deal with it. We can't have our cake and eat it too.

Sounds to me, that Joy Boy was in Gear 5 all the time; so Luffy is not making full use of the Nika Devil Fruit. This means that Luffy can stay in Gear 5 forever if he wanted to, judging how the Giant Robot only hears Joy Boy when Luffy is in Gear 5. The shorting of life with Gears, I think Lucci got it wrong. Lucci believed that Luffy had the Gum Gum Fruit, not the Nika Fruit. I am thinking it is very different with the Nika Fruit. Luffy using the Gears does not shroten Luffy's lifespan, just exhausts him of stamina, only.

The Nika Fruit, Hito Hito no Mi, is a Mythical Zoan devil fruit. It gives the abilities of Nika Sun god. They are not the same kind of devil fruit. The World Government lied because they did not want the Nika Fruit known to the world because it would incite rebellion among the people against the World Government.

Isn't that the lifespan thing are just a speculation by Lucci? He assume that not knowing that Luffy's fruit is a zoan. Zoan are known for their durability and regeneration speed. The only time where I think Luffy's lifespan got cut in half is when he got that hormon treatment by Ivankov in Impel Down.

No i think gear 5 doesn’t really affect him nor his other gears. Plus when Lucci told luffy he was using up his lifespan to fight in gear 2, he was talking to Luffy if he was a paramecia type not knowing that he was a zoan all along. It’s in Luffy’s nature as a zoan to transform, so of course it wouldn’t affect him but the time he got the poison surgery in impel down that was probably the only time he got a few years off his life so luffys good

What this sounds like to me is that because Bonnie's ability is so insanely busted, essentially making a weaker copy of the teams strongest player I think this power dynamic will be essential in fighting the stronger enemies to come Think of it, if a crazy op power comes, what is the reason for it? I think it be a toss up between the Soul Soul Fruit, the Hobby Hobby Fruit, the Shadow Shadow Fruit, and the Age Age Fruit in terms of broken abilities. One messes with your soul and lifespan which had to be nerfed during the last arc due to how ridiculous versatile it was. One turns you into a toy and you also end up being forgotten until the user of the fruit is out cold (which is difficult to do without being taken out by their bodyguard or turned into a toy and forced to work under the user). One can take your shadow and you're forced to forever hide in the dark since if you go, so does your shadow (a one hit kill if ever there was one). And finally we have this one where if you believe in a certain future you can turn into that future self or de-age/turn old anyone you touched for a set of time (and that's not including how you can cause someone to see their death).

Do you know if TCB scans translations are accurate? because most of the reaction videos I watch regarding chapter 1118 translate the part in which the Denden Moshi plays again in a second as (the name was). But in TCB Scans translation it says (THEIR name was). If the translations are true, I think it foreshadows that back in the void century, Joyboy isn't the only one with Nika's power. Just a theory though.

I think bonnet is 100% is contention for strawhat, she has one of the sadest backstory and let's not forget she's only a kid, and let's not forget her meeting luffy 1st, hopefully oda doesn't pull another red herring like he did with carrot and yamato, atleast we know she's going to be their in elbaf with the strawhats and that only leave urouge as the only supernova we still haven't seen interacting with the strawhats

i think gear 5 has no limit, remember when he first activate it he was at his limit after fighting kaido, he didn't need 10 mins to recharge his haki... i guess it all based on his will to fight... hunger might only be his weakness...when he fight CP0 he had "pocket meat" at prison he ate the all the red soup, during his fight with kaido he took break and eat😅as long as there is food, I don't think Luffy can reach his limit😂😂

I am curious what will happen with Bonny and if this will be her having a mean to use a power similar to Luffy or if this is just all cosmetics to make it look like she has this overwhelming power when she only has a fraction of it. Even a fraction would likely place her in a higher position than she was previously, but maybe not to the point where she could fight an elder. Either way, it is going to be fun to see where things go since it feels like we have yet to reach the climax of this arc.

Bro, bounties are redundant at this point. Who tf is even gonna beat Luffy to get that 15 billion beri? The only people who can take him are Admirals and the Elders. I always found it hilarious that Yonkou got bounties. The only pirates who could beat them are other Yonkou. Law & Kidd "beat" Big Mom and didn't even bother with the bounty.

barrier fruit imo is more busted since its a full on counter to the biggest devilfruit weakness about to fall into the ocean? make a barrier around yourself or summon a platform below you to catch you and thats just defences imagine creating a barrier blade that can cut through basically anything no sweat
