This job was interesting removing 2 metal awnings that had become a safety hazard at a school. These were built when steel was cheap! They were built with super heavy angle iron and thick steel pipe. Over kill this day in age but had rusted thru at bottom of poles so needed to be removed.
Once I demolished one of the awnings the second one wwnt much faster! As my dad always tell me, "Time me on the 3rd or 4th one, not the first!" He was a union plumber for 40 years and would install toilets or install the same plumbing repeatedly. He'd tell is boss not to time him on the first one. Like most actions in life, "practice makes perfect!".
I remove the 2 awnings(2nd went much faster), 2 concrete footers for a scoreboard, 2 heavy duty basketball goal bases and a large metal gate. All in a hard day's work!
