@@shengbojia3389 Also, hell contains an interesting element. It is element 16. It has 16 protons in it's nucleus. So, hell is made of atoms. Ancient people that it was a cleanser or something. The bible mentions that the god's breath smells like element 16.

One thing that always fails to make any sense to me Is the story of the fruit of the knowledge tree 'Don't eat it or you'll die that's all for now, bye bye' and not bothering to secure it, let them run free The serpent slithers along, seeing them held hostage Says to eve "Eat the fruit, you will see past your bondage" 'But I will die!' 'That is a lie... It will give you what he alone has; supreme knowledge' Adam and Eve take the fruit before long Take a bite, savor the taste, om nom nom They get knowledge Yet no courage To ask why they were lobotomised all along! God finds out they broke the law Adam and Eve now see all In a fit of rage of them not being caged he sentenced humans to fall Why did a good god who never shaves Create a population of slaves? Then when they dare think they're thrown to a fink like everyone else who misbehaves "I made my creation entirely pure But you better believe, of that I'll make sure All who try to learn I'll make sure they BURN!" Why does he sound like a child that's insecure?

I recently attempted to educate a Jehovah's Godbotherer who came to my front door about how preposterous most of the Bible is. One of my points was this: if Adam and Eve hadn't eaten from the tree of knowledge, if they didn't know the difference between right and wrong, how could they know that obeying God's command not to eat the fruit was the right thing to do? How could they have any means to judge whether ANY action was right or wrong? They would believe or not believe anything they were told, from any source, entirely at random? Without the knowledge or right and wrong, the snake was as much "an authority" as God was, and God, being omniscient would know that, and know they had eaten the fruit (and therefore not been surprised or betrayed when they did). The Fall must therefore have been preplanned. Couldn't an omnipotent being have devised a better plan? I know I could. His objection to every point I made however, was always the same, the total logical inconsistencies and outright impossibilities described "didn't matter", what was important was that the stories had to be believed, not that they had to be believable. I've never seen a more terrifying or disappointing case of willful ignorance

I think the reason I myself never got into religion was because of super heroes. I grew up watching heroes that could do what Jesus is said to do 10 times over, but was always told they were fictional stories of fictional people doing fictional things. So for me the Bible always felt like an ancient comic book that people believed to be real. Of course that doesn't mean I didn't learn a lot of good like long lessons from comics, just that i always knew they were fiction.

In that world, Jesus sounds like a kid who got kicked out of Hogwarts and then left the wizarding world to come to real humans to perform squib magic. The stuff he did ... hell, most of that was taught in the first couple years. I could imagine some wizard laughing when reading the gospels. I guess now I see why the Christian Right hated those books.

Ha! They were right! The Christians from the 50's and 60's were right to feel threatened by comic books! Their pastors told them to speak out against such evil, as they would surely lead children to -have a different perspective that would make them realize the bible is bullshit- Satan. (It's always Satan. Everything that wakes people up and breaks them free from the shackles of that backwards immoral religion is Satan)

Here is another version of a summary of the Bible (I just tweeked it): ------------------------------ Hello, Many people have never read the Bible and who can blame them. But it's considered a very important book, so I'd like to give you the short version, which will give you all you need to know. A long, long, long time ago in a galaxy far away an all-knowing man in the sky made some people who he knew were going to piss him off. When they did, he punished them, and sent them off to make more people, through sex, which he knew would eventually piss him off again. When they did, he killed damn near all of them. Eventually, the all-knowing man in the sky got fed up with the people doing things he knew they were going to do that would piss him off, so he takes his son and nails him to a cross, and says "See? Now look what you made me do. You should be ashamed of yourselves." The rest is pretty much filler. Oh ya, this Jesus guy is suppose to come back and kill everyone he doesn't like, but he is busy with his other projects for now. He has a very busy schedule.

Unfortunately Many Creationists don't have a clue - That these stories are very far from true - When 5000 years ago Hercules did Ascended into the Sky - Is less believable than when also done by this Christ Guy - In Egypt Dozens of gods , did die and ascend way up to the sky - Yet Egypt was overthrown before the birth of this guy - In the middle east it was all the rage and a common fad - for a person to communicate in the sky to his magic dad - I took less than ten minutes to think of this rhyme - it's ok for +nonstampcollector to use this any time -

Genesis 2 opens with God looking around at His creation and seeing that it is good, but, dangit, there is still no man to till the soil. Why does the soil need tilling? Why is soil tilled? To plant crops, of course. Why are crops planted? To produce harvests, of course. Why are harvests produced? To feed populations, of course. What are populations composed of? People, of course. So if there are no people in the world, yet, then there are no populations yet, which means there is no need to till the soil.

In this seemingly lighthearted animation, spoken in a common abab rhyme scheme, lies an epic poem of such profundity that it defines an epoch, places our time in history as a pivot point for humanity as we are poised to take a quantum leap in our evolution. I think we are much better off traveling light as we take the next step on this evolutionary journey of spirit and intellect. Just as Big Bird and the Teletubbies captured our attention as children and guided us on what would be a lifelong path of learning and discovery, so was Yahweh to our forebears, as they were forced to face the indignities of an unjust and violent world. The human condition is different now. Freedom is not just a concept. We live it, and it comes with its own set of challenges. Moving forward in this brave new reality necessitates letting go of things from the past that have become a burden, things that no longer serve us, things that hinder us from engaging life as the future unfolds. This video is wickedly funny and profoundly cathartic. I felt a deep sense of rage at those who would force this puerile myth, cobbled together from any number of pre existing myths, onto an unsuspecting proletariat, that it would become a cultural norm that only the audacious would dare question. Things are different now with the internet. No network or studio executives to block its distribution because it would undoubtedly offend people's religious sentiments. I know I speak for many when I say, thank you NonStampCollecter and 43alley, for all your truly fabulous videos, independently and in collaboration. We laugh, we cry (laughing), but most of all we sharpen our wits and become better informed citizens of planet earth. Live long and prosper, both of you.

I worry about poor old Jesus. He hasn't come in around 2000 years, despite having millions of people asking him to, every day. Yahweh said Adam would die if he attained an understanding of morality. But, later that same story, the humans are cursed by their puppet master with work and weeding for men and male domination and life-threatening childbirth for women. So, not merely death but a miserable life followed by death. That wasn't mentioned in the original caution. And, in any case, Christians make a big thing about how important morality is and forget that this was the very thing that their god wanted humans to be ignorant of.

JE Hoyes no, Adam and Eve died then Satan prayed to Yahweh with all due respect to bring them back to life, then when Adam and Eve got brought back to life Yahweh laid down more punishments on them for their disobedience.
