I can never understand why your informative channel doesn’t get more likes and subscribers, whereas repetitive shallow skincare channels get hundreds of thousands. Very few people mentioned how complex the distribution channel is in Korea, and I have not yet found one that provide such comprehensive info about distribution channels of skincare in Korea. And thank you for confirming my doubt about fake products in Korea, which I have fallen into while I was there

From personal experience during my visit to Seoul last year, I received more free samples and gifts in Sulwhasoo flagship store then in Olive Young. And the most important thing is you’ll actually be receiving products from the brand that you’ll actually use rather than random products from random brands.

It’s interesting because both Whoo and Sulwhasoo discounted sets can be found almost in every drug store here in Hong Kong, mainly targeted for Chinese tourist market. I am always amazed of how did these retails outlets manage to get their hand on luxury products. And at the same time we have all these brands as standalone shops and every department store. Don’t quite understand the LG and Amore’s marketing policy.

I just went to SK last October when everyone wanted to travel there because a lot of countries were closed to tourists. I hope to go to around the same time again. I had issues because a lot of shops were sold out especially at Olive Young and in Myeongdong. I really liked Lotte World Mall, Gangnam and the malls/stores around the DDP.

i love your in-depth videos! it's also interesting to see how luxury brands elevate the selling point of their products since i always wondered if there was a certain point you just start paying way too much for cosmetics. it makes sense that you're not necessarily only spending the money on the product. when i was in sk i was mainly a roadshop girlie and i've never really dipped into department stores 😂

Please make more new videos. I've watched almost all of your videos. I wish I have seen this video while we were in Korea last June so I could have known about department store freebies and discounts as a tourist. It's true that there were more 1 big shop with different brands and less cosmetic/skincare shops and I was wondering but you explained it well. We also shopped at Lotte mart in Songpa-gu and there were good deals in a skincare section (they have dedicated stalls) especially skincare brands in the mart).

Oh and having worked in the customs regulations area I confirm : counterfeit products is a no NO. Legal problems are one thing already but health issues can be serious. At best the product is useless. At worst it's harmful or even toxic. Please don't even try .

A lovely and informative video as always! ✨ I'm currently debating between Lancôme Japan's Milky Bright (the colorless one) and HERA's latest Multi-Defense (also the colorless version). I've tried and enjoyed both, although of course the Lancôme one feels more luxurious. I know you've mentioned the two are often compared, and I'm curious which you think is better, especially in terms of adhesion power? I don't mind paying a little extra for the Lancôme.

Unfortunately a lot of your recommended products (espec Hanban skincare) are not easily available in Europe and Stylevana or Olive Young Global shipping is quite a nightmare to where I live (NL). Yup, their "reputation" is based purely on influencer sponsorships. They started with foreign influencers first and moved to Korean ones later. I don’t have a high opinion of the company for a number of reasons, Trina from @beautybeyond40 made a great video highlighting some of their misleading marketing. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z61xbL2erdDNY3U.htmlsi=CsNXOZ66zYf_WEdT Somehow I suspect that that top commenter with all those votes must be on their payroll because I've never, ever seen or heard or any clinics in Korea that use their devices. Clinics use professional devices that are not usually available to non-professionals (because of the high strength of some treatments), seeing someone suggest that professional clinics use devices with such limited specs is risible. For skincare devices I would stick to reputable, established companies. I personally recommend the LG Pra.L devices for Korea or Ziip and Dr.Dennis Gross for the rest of the world.

Hello Odile, Congratulations for this wonderful channel about real Korean cosmetics, thanks to you I have learnt and improved my skin a lot . In relation to today's video I would like to know if you could please tell me how to buy online the LG cosmetics shop (Nature collection) or Aritaum but with shipping to Europe, Spain specifically. The online shops in Korea that used to ship without problems, are now not competitive and have stopped selling premium cosmetics. I would really appreciate it because now I can no longer buy anything from LG cosmetics and I have no alternative, I am used to Sooryehan and Yehwadam and they no longer sell them. yesstyle has yehwadam, but their sooryehan range is small. I am struggling to get a retailer selling sooryehan with shipping to Ireland.

I am 50 and prefer olive young skin care brands😊😂 some of the premium and luxury brand are full of essential oils for my skin type, I don’t do well with those ingredients they are as bad a Fragrance, in return causing more dryness snd irritation

Do you have any preference in terms of texture? Are you asking for toners specifically because you’re looking for products with a watery consistency in general by any chance? I ask because some products I would recommend have the watery commonly associated with toners but they’re marketed under different names (essences/balancers etc)

I've ordered from Stylevana countless times, however I've been trying to limit using the site as I've paid for products that were going to expire in 3 months time along with travel sizes that literally had written "NOT FOR SALE" on the packaging. Beware of products whose price is *too* low, they're trying to get them off their hands for sketchy reasons. For more sensible sales or regular prices, I haven't had problems.

I have been wanting to buy a first essence from these expensive brands but when i see there ingredients list it usually has alcohol in them and mostly i hve heard that we should avoid skincare products which has alcohol in them???😢

I wouldn’t say they are say necessarily better in general, but high percentages of some actives are only allowed in professional treatments. However I wouldn’t personally advise non-professionals to use these strong active treatments at home because if they are not handled properly, they could lead to severe side effects.

Yesstyle e stylevana: se si vuole acquistare direttamente dall'Asia (Hong kong); altrimenti sono sempre piu numerosi siti in Europa specializzati nella vendita di skincare coreana, ma ho notato un rincaro spesso eccessivo!

Io conosco solo yes style e stylvana come siti dove c'è un sacco di scelta, purtroppo anche lì spesso non riesco a trovare molti dei prodotti "premium" e "luxury" per la mia pelle over 40 😅 ma davvero ci sono un sacco di prodotti, yes style è un po' più caro dell'altro ma a mio parere più affidabile.

Io compro sempre su My Beauty Routine ormai, è un sito italiano quindi chiaramente ha prezzi diversi a yes style e gli altri citati. Peró i prodotti mi arrivano subito (max 2 giorni) e senza ansie e stress. Ho avuto brutte esperienze in passato con i siti asiatici, anche perchè il servizio di assistenza è letteralmente inesistente 😢

😂 not really, in fact sometimes companies repurpose proprietary ingredients developed for their luxury brands in some of their more accessible lines. For example Amorepacific's Melasolv complex was originally developed for Hera's White Program line and later repurposed across their brand portfolio (laneige, iope, sulwhasoo etc).
