It's mind boggling how vast the Roman influences are throughout the country.

Much like in the world advanced cultures almost always displaced the native people. Just like Native People in Canada.

In Britain anyway the Roman’s often gave back the lands that were taken and everyone had a chance to become a Roman in the AD era anyway not Roman republic

How about sending geo phys out there a week or two ahead of time? I never understood why with only 3 days they wouldn't consider doing this. 😕

Raksha: "Shall we do it together?" (digging a test pit). Small boy: (digging earnestly) "No." Raksha: "OK..."

If that was my backyard I’d be excavating and documenting every corner on my own lol. To be honest this seemed like such a weird episode. They almost seemed understaffed, quite grumpy and biting and a bit confused on their choices of digging. I still love this show and the people, and even this episode. Lol

Letting that blonde 2 year old help dig, is so awesome. I would love to see little kids getting educated in this way. Visual learning is the best learning. Yes, I am a former Teacher... USA that is... The oldest thing I have around me is... Me.

Sometimes I wonder if things like these garden test pits are put in only because folks ask you to.. it seems to me that the field next to the cob is where the test pits should have gone not further east in folks back yards.. And after all that they still didn't dig that little field every where but there.. I am flabbergasted.. Well, that is TV archeology for ya.. But I still love it and watched it faithfully and still do..

What folks told them where to dig? They dug where there were finds coming up because geophysics was not coming up with anything

@@annazaman9657 What show were you watching? besides I didn't say (if you had read what I wrote) that any one told them to dig anywhere what I had said that they were asked to dig in the back yards by the home owners.. what were they gonna say no.. and they never dug the field to the east of the cob which is where I would have put my pit once the cob find was verified.. But this is TV archeology and I never had a dig that was on tv.. So I figured that was the difference. that's all..

Terrible waste of talent, time and energy in removing the copes. That should have been completed before the team ever showed up.
