Instilling a sense of cultural pride in people is a wonderful thing. Involving the young man on suspension from school was a great thing to do. You never know how much the experience might change his life. Very nice episode.

I’m a Yank living over here in Pennsylvania, British history is fascinating! I’ve learned so much but what I use all the time from watching these time teams incessantly that my friends hate are look mates “Lump and Bumps” and that’s all “Higldy pigldy” ..... wish America had a show this interesting, but all we can dig up to show the Brits is a 1927 Ford pickup truck :)

I've realised, after hours of watching TT and reading the comments that the commentators, as a body, should be thanked for their good manners. I've seen one single F and the word written out once. There are the few people who 'Ew!' at the length of Phil's right-hand nails and one or two who carp at Sir Tony's questions to the archaeologists, but generally, as a group, you deserve the thanks of all of us for this civil discourse. Such a pleasure to read your comments: thank you!

This is my ancestor's castle. Hylton's castle. Terry Jones proofed this as well as others. This was never abandoned. There was also a chapel there I have pictures. There was first was a wooden castle built in 900 A.D. William de Hilton built a stone castle in place of the wooden castle in 1000 A.D. THIS STORY IS INCORRECT BY THESE PRODUCERS OF THIS FILMS. FACTS AND RESEARCHED BY MANY
