Honestly, they’d probably propagate i cement too 😂 they are so resilient. Tradescantias root so well and quickly. Let those tips callous (dry) for a few hours) and plop in water or any preferred medium. You can even put them back in the soil. They root well that way too.

I found a tiny piece in a hydrangea that I bought. It must have sat unnoticed for a good week but it was still juicy so I plopped that future baby into a pot with a baby Viking Begonia and she’s doing great. I always keep an eye on the ground- the ultimate shoe gazer move- looking for succulent leaves or broken tendrils to take home and propagate. 🥰

I put a few tiny cuttings outside in the spring and when I brought em back in in the fall that thing needed it's own zip code! My fiance laughed at the thought of me getting it thru the door let alone in the house somewhere! 😂

I have a love-hate relationship with this one. They grow so fast and can be propagated so easily, but they also break easily and often start to dry right above the soil (while the rest of it looks nice). After propagating and killing and propagating I couldn’t watch them die no more and got rid of it. But I’ll gladly watch you properly take care of your „trzykrotka” 😁

Same. And no matter how often I pinch the tips I can’t get them nice and full like the nursery ones. They get so leggy no matter the light. Ugh.

This I my problem plant that I’m sort of regretting buying. I heard the leaves dry out with too much water. Sounds strange, but when I went to check out why, some plant expert said it’s better to water from the bottom, let the plant soak up the water. Also as someone mentioned this plant is not meant for hanging, but spreading out (runner). So I’m testing this out. Also I didn’t have luck propagating with just water, they said to just place into the soil and roots will eventually grow. They also said this plant is invasive outside if in the right environment, very strange plant. If it dies I won’t be too upset.

I have a thick, happy pot of tradescantia from a fallen branch I found at an outdoor flower shop when I was buying my discount stepped-on neon pothos. Got home and pruned the pothos hard, slapped the tradescantia on some soil and now the two are thriving.

I love these things. I got a probably 25 year old plant that was my grandmother’s who recently passed. She loved plants and would sometimes give me some for my birthday. I think the specific plant was her mother’s (who was born in the early 1900s) and she took a cutting from that one when she passed. It was getting a little bare and leggy, so I cut all of the healthy growth off and have have probably at least 100 cuttings, but I didn’t count. It was so scary and still looks a little sad, but I see new growth coming. It also probably has been in the same pot its whole life, which is pretty small, but I’m so scared to repot it! I’ll just wait until it starts not looking as healthy. So easy to root and grows so fast! I’ll be putting them everywhere!

I have these, it was just left from the previous house tenants, and I wasn't feeling the color (I want lush green plants - oh how immature of me 😅) but still "cared" for them for couple months. Noticed they weren't blossoming, almost died honestly. But when I repotted and hanged them they really flourished. Seeing them thrive makes me smile everyday🥰

This plant is so underrated, the leaves are beautiful, they shimmer, fast growing (for me anyway) easy to care for, and even if it did start to die, pop some cuttings in water they will start rooting quickly, I've never had a stem that didn't root. The only issue you could have is that you end up with too much of it 😂
