Tried dota this afternoon, pretty fun tbh

I had Vanguard downloaded & booted up Tarkov without remembering I now have a Kernel root kit permanently running... While loading into my first raid it completely nuked my PC, it initially rebooted by itself & I was like "oh that's a first". Then after attempting to reload the raid, it blue screened my PC stating I had "Kernel heap mode corruption". Once I wised up and disabled vanguard it worked like a charm with no issues. Surely Vanguard can't be bricking PC's as well & wasn't exactly the cause of everyone's issues! Love the content Rich, keep up the great work!

Someone posted about an issue I've had, where LoL.exe is in the background for no reason and eating up 8gb of memory, and it got removed as soon as one of the jannies spotted it.

Not kidding. I recently bought a new PC (4K in price), because my old one kept bricking. I was catching AFK bans in EVERYTHING. CS, Val, Siege, anything competitive because the PC would freeze up, black screen and restart itself, either that or I had to hold the power button down for a few seconds and force close it. I thought my PC had it, the specs of that one were i7, 3070, 32gb ram. Nothing wrong with the PC other than it would freeze up in games sometimes. The fact Vanguard is this invasive is actually crazy, because on my new PC I wanted to install it onto my D Drive, I set the path on install and everything, only to see it still auto-installed onto my C Drive, very sneaky and not where I told it to go.

I downloaded vanguard, played 1-2 games and exited, went on to youtube and my windows blue screen'ed. I deleted vanguard after that and soon will completely reinstall windows and clear drives.

I know it is a dead game but I still play Heroes Of The Storm... still better option than LoL. Blizzard forgot that it exists which makes it better for my soul.

i installed valorant about 2 years back due to my mates insisting i play with them. played the tutorial and hated it so i uninstalled. turned off the pc for the night and the next day when i booted up the pc it had completely kicked the bucket. a whole bunch of drivers were cooked. half of the programs wouldnt run. spent half a day talking to friends with an IT background and despite their efforts we couldnt fix it. the only solution was to factory reset it. thanks rito

A major pc bricking bug is bad but the complete denial is so much worse, used to have vanguard when valorant came out gave it a try didn't like it much so after i stopped playing i uninstalled vanguard. after this mess im never adding it back ever.

Vanguard idle is using as much CPU as a chrome with 5 tabs open. This is some miner tier behavior.

Main reason I uninstalled LoL. Even after I deactivated it and the client, it kept launching by itself during startup (even thought I went through all settings and proceedures on the PC to disable it except for tampering with the Regedit).

The real question is how long it will take for Riot to try to fuck over LS for publicly talking about his problems with Vanguard, because it is only a matter of time. There are higher ups absolutely stewing over this and who can't wait to do it in a way that gives them some form of deniability.

Something I haven't seen people talk about is: the biggest reason you might not have UEFI or TPM 2.0 enabled would be because your hardware is more than ~5 years old and/or is on the cheaper side. This being the case for if you have mechanical hard drives, for instance, which you've used for a while such as on a previous computer, and especially if you used Windows 7; you might need to enable CSM in UEFI (also known as BIOS, the term for the earlier version that UEFI expands on) on your Windows 10 or 11 machine to allow your computer to recognize those drives. Windows 11 does require TPM 2.0 and UEFI, but there were workarounds found for that, as like I mentioned, not all hardware (especially if it's older, or on the cheaper side aka not fully featured motherboards and modern SSDs) supports those features, and people may still want to have the newest Windows version. Riot could blame users for that, but truly how many actually know about that or are in that situation? This would make sense for a certain percentage, but even among PC gamers who would be more likely to know these things than the average person, it doesn't add up.

it happened to me the day i updated league and installed vanguard. played a few matches, didn't have any problem. later on that day while watching youtube my yt video froze. i tried to fix it but shortly after the whole pc froze, then turned off. couldn't fix anything in bios, and after going to a repair shop, i found out that my ssd ( which had windows installed ) completely fried that day. it could have been a massive coincidence, i have no proof that it was vanguard's doing, but i think i'm done with league either way, i don't wanna have to worry about shit like this when playing a video game.

first day of vanguard update back when it got released, i turned on my laptop and immediately went blue screen for split second, and after that i uninstalled it. the weird thing i have a pbe account and didnt have any sort of problems until vanguard update on live server. I just built my new pc and no way i will install league again, maybe I'll play when urf again but on my laptop.

Also uninstalling the riot client is actually a disgusting process. You need to uninstall the games first and then the client but after uninstalling the games, the riot client does not appear in your control panel or settings for uninstalling and also there is no uninstall script in the client folder so you have manually delete the client from your program files and appdata and desktop and startup folders and then remove the registry remnants manually. It was harder to get rid of than herpes and I'm not tech illiterate, i just finished my final exam for my masters in computer science

Yesterday 6/21/2024, this vanguard almost bricked my gpu, after power up my pc in the morning, i've noticed the artifacts on my screen after few mins pc turned on, i was in the explorer at the time doing some work related, i thought my 1,5 yrs old gpu is almost died, i was like oh god. Then i checked the process monitor i've notice that "riot vanguard" is active which is usually i've turned off in start up setting (maybe i forgot to turned that off yesterday). I turned Vanguard off then restart my pc, strangely the artifacts is gone, tried few casual games no problem, tried AAA games no problem either, then what is that artifacts i've experienced earlier? Yes, the culprit is Riot Vanguard. Im done league, finally decided to uninstall all riot related games and vanguard today

I don't really play league but I recently went into a little bit on a Teamfight Tactics binge with a friend. I didn't know about the upcoming Vanguard update and I wouldn't give a fat rats arse about a TFT cheater as that would probably be a very sad existence and I'd feel sorry for someone having to cheat in such a simple game :D My PC didn't get bricked but the Riot Launcher and the League of legends client are now in such a beyond corrupted state that my widows doesn't recognize the files as being even readable. I can't even open some of the files in notepad to see a jumbled mess of characters, I can't uninstall the game, I can't delete the files normally and I certainly can't run the game or the launcher :D

And isn't it so ironic that Riot blames the TRUSTED PLATFORM Module for the issues? Almost as if Vanguard ain't a trusted platform. By the way, for anyone not familiar with it. If the issue is a no-boot and enabling UEFI and TPM2.0 "fixes" it, means Vanguard messed with the Windows boot settings. No software should ever, ever! do that. Doesn't matter that it is the only supported config for running Windows 11. Tell people about the issue. Steer them towards the resources they need to fix it. Just going "lmao yoink!" with the Windows boot loader is a fucking no-go.

I downloaded Valorant and Vanguard about two years ago. I uninstalled it and vanguard about a year ago. Stupid me, I didn’t check to make sure it wasn’t on my PC still. I went to clean my pc the other day and it still shows Valorant on my PC taking up 3 TERABYTES of space and no matter what I do it still shows it there. I googled the problem and it sounds like it’s been happening to lots of people. Complete garbage product, never installing a Riot game again.
