No offence, but Dutton doesn't know much about genetics, especially his comments on how inbreeding is better for the immune system and fighting bacteria and viruses. Almost all of the literature says outbreeding is better because your offspring's immune cells, by extension, their immune function, rely/relies on the total number of different combinations their MHC receptors can make, which increases by several factors of 10 the less homozygosity they have (i.e. when your partner has a gene code as different as possible from yours). I think he has a knack for history and a few other subjects, but should stay out of the realm of biology or immunology until he's read a book from this or last century on it.

I had a science teacher who told us back in the 80s that people are like any species. You get different variations due to evolution. You get Labradors and you get bull mastiffs in canines. So too with people you get different inherent temperaments, and not just different physical appearances. Demography is destiny.

Well said - I resonate with any perspective that conforms to these observable truths about natural correlation. I am a palmist and learning to see these basic natural “types”, by recognising their symptoms on the hand is the foundation of the entire science. Earth type - short hand short fingers Water type - long hand, long fingers. Fire type - long palm, short fingers Air type - short palm, long fingers. Its a direct observation of fixed genetic traits, which underly our value systems and the “alignment” of our personality atop our natural “vehicle”.

I loved everything about this entire interview. The fact that Edward was genuinely perplexed that anyone could be offended by the idea that all women are prostitutes, is quite heartwarming in a way. lol. But all told, I learned something about myself in this conversation. Well at least, formed a desire to think more carefully about where I fall in each of the five character traits, and along the left-right spectrum.

I think that his comment " all women are prostitutes" may have missed why , when invaders come to steal , kill and destroy , the women are taken , so either fff them , marry them or get along to stay alive , this is due to men's constant wars and women as booty, so women adapt and that is what he means, just his charming way of his own misogyny, but he is brilliant and lives in Finland with wife and children and is good father , a wee bit religious but he knows so much , one interviewer told him , you talk to fast, he looked at camera and said am I having a stroke , he does not tolerate fools gladly and it will show on his face and remember you can have a different opinion , but he verifies and so must you.

When the people in power say the phrase “our democracy” they do not mean the same thing that we think they mean. Which is why sometimes they say things that seem like nonsense. It is no longer nonsensical when you realize they have their own definition for that phrase, and it’s not “the will of the people being conveyed to the public servants through voting,” which is what we think it means. The meaning of that phrase is “us being in power.” So when they say “the public voting how they want to is a threat to our democracy,” it makes more sense when you read it as “the public voting how they want to is a threat to us being in power.”

Ed is so English, that even after an exquisite explanation from Benjamin on the etymology of 'Baller', he still mistook it for 'Bowler'. For Americans, that's the cricket 'position' who bowls the ball to the batsman, akin to a pitcher in baseball. Value free analysis as always, very good.

I think the first time I truly alienated a woke-head was nearly 15-20 years ago. My rather lefty roommate had a friend over. Since I occasionally gave money to the Republicans, I got a piece of junk mail from Michelle Bachman. the friend saw the piece of junk mail and just started screaming at me and how disgusted she was to be in my presence and not at all interested in hearing that I wasn't exactly a huge Michelle Bachmann fan either. This crazy cow actually tried to kick me out of my own house. I pointed out that I live here and showed her where the door was. My roommate got mad *at me* for this exchange.

Very enjoyable and illuminating. I guessed correctly on Philip Larkin's looks when I heard Mr. Dutton recite his poem. I think there's fertile ground to discuss how one's position in the beauty hierarchy is yet another variable on one's worldview that necessarily results from life experience. Edit: He touches on this slightly when he relays his conversation about sex differences in the tavern. What is it about Northern Europeans that they are socially incapable of tolerating anti-woke heresies? I can't see this happening in Italy.

I think he or others say that Germanic or the British (British people are really half Germanic and half Briton,. Welsh have higher Briton genes) are meritocratic socialist type societies historically so if you could do a job you were in the club or tribe. Your actions counted more. Whereas maybe in historical Italo culture or southern Europe generally your cultural habits and beliefs etc were more important. Also, historically being chivilarous was a part of Germanic culture which might explain why tolerance is higher even when it contradicts personal need? Who knows.

That's not quite historically accurate. Certainly by the 1960s about half of Israelis were not European. Nor were all the Europeans new arrivals. European Jews started moving to Israel circa 1500AD to escape the Spanish Inquisition. What I don't like about Israel is that they can have little immigration whilst pushing immigration onto other western countries, even though it is detrimental to us. For example our current far left government is bringing in thousands of unvetted Palestinian refugees every week. Hmm.

In early 1945 the US asked Finland to jettison the Germans and did right up to April, 1945. You are correct but one fact remains, the Finn military was never under direct German military control unlike Ukrainians, Croats and Eastern Europeans who fought in the German Wehrmacht during WW2. As a kid I remember reading about D-Day and when the German pill boxes were captured they found not just Germans but many Ukrainians manning these pill boxes with the Germans. This books author back when I read it in the 1960’s stated, some of the most ferocious combatants were Ukrainians not just Germans. Never forgot that. While reading up on the “Continuation War” 1941 to 1944, I read in 1809 Russia fought to partition Finland from Sweden and did. Finland was part of the Russian empire but was left mostly to be autonomous and prospered. When the Bolsheviks revolted in 1918 Finland became independent of the Russian empire and the Bolsheviks agreed to let Finland become independent. Why the diatribe all about Finland. Don’t mess with the Finns seems to be the history lesson.

@@jimcarlson2252 I know the Germans used former prisoners of war in Normandie to man the positions. I don't believe the American accounts from the 1960s about the conduct of the Ukrainians are representative. This was written in the middle of the Cold War. To discredit the Soviets would have been an obvious thing to do. Antony Beevor write in his book about the D-Day that most Poles etc. in Normandie took the opportunity to shoot their German officers and surrender to the Allied as soon as possible. Why would Ukrainians fight for the German Reich in Normandie? They had only agreed to serve in the German army to get out of the terrible camps for prisoners of war where most of the prisoners died.

It's the lack of existential threats. Easy to despair of materialism when you want for little. Have a look at Calhoun's Universe 25 mouse utopia experiments. When the physical constraints are removed evolution's mechanisms start to fail and the species suicides for want of a reason to go on.

Reducing the differences of judeo-christian values and islamic values to basically wishing for ethnic exclusivity is an oversimplification. While it's certainly an aspect, the value systems are very distinct - enough to spark sincere ideological conflicts.

Demographics play a massive role in the world. Right now, Europe is facing a crisis, and it’s called the African birth rate. Africa has the highest birth rate in the world. In fact, the African population is going to double by 2050. The migration crisis hasn’t even begun yet.

Actually it's the falling birthrates in the west that is the problem. 1.3 per woman is below replacement. And our economic system depends on continuous growth. Actually, birthrates are going down in most of Africa, it's falling infant mortality increasing the population.

I loved joking about the intersection of gay rights and ending Islamophobia. I guess I am a generous mutant, since I have been sick most of my life and opted out of reproduction. I always saw Christian Nationalism as the 1980s holy a-holes deciding to take over the nation and ban any geek hobby. Left? Right? My position is that all authoritarians can get lost. I am very similar to my dad in that way. He once saw a documentary about various totalitarian regimes and wondered if we were the kinds of people who would say something no matter the cost. When I discuss demographics, I like saying "Good riddance to the Idiocracy." Jolly Heretic once reviewed Idiocracy and said that it was far too optimistic.

This may be off topic but i can really feel the difference in the world and i have thought that one thing that is different is that probably almost half of the US at least if not the entire western world is on SSRIs. Many older people have been on them for decades and we now have a generation of young adults who were medicated for various reasons as children. We may be experienceing the beginning of the zombie apocolpse. Decent people on these drugs become numb and apathetic. Others become sadomasichistic. For the record i am on no medications. Over the past few decades i have watched my peers become more and more hostile. And many i know have been on these drugs for the same period. Also, left people tend to like drugs of all kinds.
