To those of you already dissing the new album: whatever. Crystals has a solid melody with trademark OMAM amazing lyrics. Empire is just as epic as Dirty Paws and with just as much magic. I Of The Storm bears personal reflection the band has never given yet. And this song is just the icing on the already delicious cake. Which is not a lie. I can't wait.

Beneath the Skin has a much more grounded feel to it (so far) than My Head Is An Animal. While their first album had this grand sense of adventure and mystical quality to it with all the Nordic mythology and imagery, this seems more secular. More about people, relationships, etc. Anyone else agree?

for me this song is about some one you loved breaking up with you and the feeling of lose and sadness in the beginning then your pride taking over saying you don't need him/her you're better than that any ways, then realized in the end how much you loved and miss them and that you want them back

Feeling this song so much....the last part of "I'm drowning" really gives the mood, like feeling trapped in a feeling of anger (hunger for the kill), and realizing how would the aftermath would be if you give in to your hunger, or anger. I see the lyrics as an analogy of someone's dealing with an intense situation, like you're fighting with someone you love dearly, you're afraid you would do something stupid. You both are just being quiet to avoid any confrontation.

Every song they've ever written, including the latest stuff, is perfection. Timeless band

Dang, I just started crying because of this song. First song I voluntarily listened to by Of Monsters and Men (Meaning not on the radio) and that was when Hunger was first released. It gave me so many memories, and the nostalgia. Music is powerful stuff, man.

The end of this song sometimes sounds to me like she's singing "I'm drowning" and other times like she's singing "I'm trying to live." I know in this video it says "I'm drowning" but my interpretation of this song it is both.

before I saw this lyrics video.. I was thinking she was singing "I'm travelling"... blame it on covid.. the ending of the song was soul stirring.. and "I'm travelling" resonated with a feeling of euphoria of being able to travel again, implying the troubled days are over...When I read the lyrics and realized that she was saying "I'm Drowning", the ecstasy turned into a burst of tears and sadness..like the good people shouting to the universe about their plight.. Lovely lovely song!

"This hunger, it isn't you..." It isn't you. I'm drowning. I can relate; feeling mostly rejected by friends and feeling often alone, I'm drowning, as I am not the hunger that others seek.

These were the lines that grabbed my heart when I first heard them. These lines touched on the feelings I was going through at a time I was accepting that my partner of 23 years had given up on us years earlier and it was time to end the marriage. I would love to have the opportunity to sit down with Nanna and the Band and hear the stories behind the songs. Especially on this one and Organs. I feel Organs has a personal meaning to Nanna because it is the only lyric video performed by a band member. Even the Official Music Video seems that way - Starting out with her alone in this huge landscape. Maybe some day I will have that chance and maybe someday I will find someone that will love me for who I am.

These video's elevate this Album to another level. While I love blasting these tracks out in the car, these videos leave me awestruck. NO OTHER BAND HAS EVER DONE THAT, PERIOD!

Out of all the actors, this one is my favourite. All the others really do feel like they're "acting", but this woman seems to convey the emotion in a very genuine manner.

It seems My Head Is an Animal is about love, being loved, or just have courage. Beneath the skin sounds like they are talking about being human or feeling human, which is just saying be yourself and go explore

This is why OMAM is my favorite. There isn't a single song they have that I don't like. All of them are amazing. They all have good meaning behind the lyrics, unlike a lot of music these days which either don't have any clear meaning, or the meaning is sex or drugs or something like that. Still, if OMAM made a song with a meaning like that, they would do it Right and I would still enjoy it.

A lot of people refer to the people lip-syncing the songs as "actors," but honestly, I feel as though this isn't really acting. Something about this feels so raw, like they are baring their own insides through somebody else's music, and this is more than a performance. You can tell the people relate to these songs so well.

I honestly am just waiting on this new album to drop. Is it more of their classic old folklantic tracks? Great. Is it more of their new more modern day-ish folk pop? Great. Anything they do, I will support. They keep breaking new boundaries and discovering that they’re actually very good at them. I’ve followed them since “My Head is an Animal”, and they never stop surprising me.

I can't wait for the album to be released next week. I absolutely love it! I am addicted to OMAM's music, its being integrated beneath my skin. It travels through my blood and pierces my organs reminding me that I'm human even though I feel free as a wolf and united as an empire. I can't wait to own this crystal, that's called music.
