I spent my summer boating season in 2022 on board my Fisher 37 sailing Fortune and Placentia Bays on the South Coast of Newfoundland. This videos touches into some of my favourite resettled communities in this area. This video will give you a flavour of what awaits the mariner ignoring the often times poor weather and strong winds and currents. You will never be disappointed and always impressed. Check it out! View on a larger screen if possible to get the most from the video.

Ed, this is an excellent video. I’d always wanted to sail in Newfoundland but I’m afraid the closest I’ll get is through your presentations. Which are uniformly well made, knowledgeable and easy to listen to narration and beautiful to see. I was sorry to see Chico is gone. We lost our Yellow Lab about 20 years ago and I still grieve.

Beautiful video. I’m a Lake from Placentia but my family came from St. Kyrans. My grandfather Jerome Lake owns the cabin you were next too. When he passed in 2021 we took his ashes over and made up that plaque.

Awesome video! I practically grew up in Kingwell ( Next to Port Royal) during the summers in the late 70's and 80's. No bay like Placentia Bay WHEN it's sunny 😊

I was there in 1963, came by CNN Ferry from Argentia, the church was still standing and the paths were well groomed. Was a guest of the Millers and went trout fishing in the lakes above. I missed the ferry and was transported back in a punt( Make & Break) to Placentia. Stil have pictures of me and Neich Miller. We fried them up in bacon grease and ate them like bacon. Visited a few other houses and they all wanted to know about President Kennedy like he was my brother. They all had pictures of him hanging in the parlor! I am 78 now and still remember well.

Very interesting video, my grandparents Buffetts all came from Jersey Harbour and that area.

Well-conceived, artfully filmed and lovingly presented. Congratulations, Mr. O'Reilly on this moving and respectful presentation. My ancestors hail from St. Kyran's and I had the wonderful experience over several days to visit the area many years ago. Once again, thank you for rekindling those sweet memories.

Such wonderful discovery for me! My dad was born in 1903 and grew up in Jersey Harbour. This is the first time I have ever seen Jersey Harbour and it was very exciting but also very moving for me. It is on my bucket list to visit some day, somehow. BTW, we have C&C32 which we sail on Lake Ontario... I could imagine your wonderful journey. Thank you!!!

As always Ed, very well done and very touching. My neighbours for over 40 years are the Lake family from Oderin and I will be sure to tell them about this video and your upcoming videos.
