As usual a nice sane person EDC. Medical stuff is nice to have and I keep it in my bag but in terms of keeping stuff on me, it’s usually just a couple pairs of nitrile gloves rolled up in a back pocket. Takes up no space and realistically has given me enough to start helping every time I’ve needed to do so. Might want to think about that back pocket wallet though. I stopped doing that a long time ago and my god it helps your back out. YMMV.

The only thing I’d add would be some extra ammo. A speed strip with 5 rounds of 357 easily fits in a pocket and would be nice to have.

Just got my Kore belt and set it all up with gear tried it on and I am very happy with it. The best I thnk I have ever had.

Great simple EDC setup maybe only suggestion would be an Olight Arkfeld flat flashlight - waterproof and built in battery for easy usb recharging

I mirror just about everything you carry. I’m retired several years now. One thing I would add is a Speed Strip. Easy to slip in a pocket. When I wear jeans it resides, concealed in my watch pocket.

Nice i carry my Colt Compact 45 ACP in a nylon Miami vice shoulder harness and with 2 8 round mags in the side ways mag pouch. My cuffs are under my weapon holster which is all side ways. I have my flashlight, Gerber tool and binoculars in my glove compartment of my SUV along with my wallet badge and ID. Great video!

I have to say, I've never looked at anyone's belt buckle unless it was a big Western buckle. I've heard mixed things about the durability of Kore's belts. Nexbelt is similar but supposed to be slightly better quality. There are sealed lighter bodies that take a Zippo insert if you find your fuel evaporates before you can use it. I was hoping to hear more about that nickel/chrome Hi-Power pictured in the thumbnail still taking care of business. I'd also like to know what kind of waterproof Salomons those are. I've been looking for waterproof sneakers I can wear every day and it's hard to find any that aren't trail running shoes.

look into the sog small multi tools, like the power pint, they go on the belt and are very small and not at all a pain to carry.

Only new tech thing that wouldn't be good for camping but is great for city is smart watch. My samsung watch works as a phone and credit card when I don't have a phone. When I'm particularly lazy in sweat pants, I'll just have a smart watch that can pay for stuff and call 911. Watch face is changeable so dig or analog. Uses GPS for time. Downside is it needs to be charged daily. I moved away from the fat wallet. ID is inside the phone case and on the phone.

I understand your choice of flashlight, however at today's prices you can get a good, small, Streamlight that is adjustable for brightness but provides a much better beam for about $35 and you can carry it the same place and same way. Also, I understand your choice of knife, however at today's prices you can get a similar knife in a number of brands that has a window breaker on the butt end which would add to your capability but not add to the number of items you're carrying or really increase your money spent by much.

Ive always had better luck with no name flashlights. So happy to see a zippo. Fire should absolutly be an edc. I carry a zippo (i also smoke and need to look kool whilst doing it) and a bic wrapped in gorilla tape.

Carry what you use and use what you carry. So if you don't use it, don't carry it. I often use my Victorinox Climber and pen, but when you don't have a need for it leave it at home.

Kore Belts are the best!

Sometimes the very expensive and good gear doesn't last long as we paid them, but a one under $50 Flashlight last long as lifetime.

I find myself carrying my 340pd now more and more. It’s very comfortable to carry in the waist and the curve of the handle doesn’t bother my tactical gut! My question is? Do you feel the disadvantage of only carrying 5 shots? When here in Miami anytime there’s video of an armed robbery or drive by. Glock with a 30round magazine. Switch optional! Seems to be always the weapon of choice. Sometimes my thinking is the 340 is inadequate for the Draco/glocks of 2023?

Pretty good, only sugestion would be to carry more ammo. 5 shots is enough, until it isn't.

I only watched this to see why you would carry old ASP cuffs, when I am sure I have seen a video of yours talking about it being stupid to EDC cuffs as an off-duty cop or it might have been someone else. LOL no cuffs in this EDC.

Not understanding the carry of the J-frame where you said it gives you approximate “9mm” performance, yet it’s only 5 rounds. Why not then carry something like a Glock 43 which is true “9mm,” holds SEVEN 9mm rounds and is no larger than that j-frame??? Do you carry speed loaders? 5 shots isn’t enough these days. My department made a training video decades ago of an off duty reserve that got into a gun fight with two armed robbery suspects and him with a j-frame. His 5 year old daughter sadly was with him and one suspect shot her, knowing that his attention would take his focus off of him. Well he went through 5 shots faster than a a lightning strike.

You Americans should be very grateful that you can carry a gun and use it in self defense, in my country Sweden you can only obtain a pistol if you are a member of a shooting club and thats really hard to become a member of, but you still cannot use it to defend yourself, if you carry it loaded in a holster, minimum 2 years in prison and if you do use it to defend yourself you will lose your permit and be charge with murder or manslaughter, So the public sercurity officers and police use the baton very often, The PR-24 cannot be use (the best baton) but we have very high quality of Swiss and german batons with push buttons. Pepperspray is considered like a firearm in my shit country.

Yeah I always find it funny when you watch edc dumps and guys got like 5 pounds of shit in addition to the gun they claim they carry everyday. Nice to watch one that's actually honest. I carry a flashlight and a skeletool in a tale of knives caddy on my belt, my p226 in an owb holster, my wallet and car keys and then i wear a fanny pack I keep some medical, my phone, cigarettes and lighter in. My multitool already has a knife so I honestly don't bother carrying a dedicated one.

I kinda have a different view about this now..... I believe that in areas where you are highly recognizable as a police officer...Especially if you worked those areas consistently for years, you should absolutely carry your full credentials and I mean your badge and restraints and other items you would need to perform basic police arrest duties.... As far as my EDC is concerned in other areas where I'm off Duty my focus is primarily on self-defense defense and the defense of my family. If I react to a situation, it is important to note that I am not acting as a law enforcement officer nor do I intend to identify myself as a law enforcement officer and in fact, it will not be known that I am a law enforcement officer until I come into contact with responding officers who detained me....but I will not broadcast this. I will exercise my right to remain silent and seek council beyond the basic initial statement. Once you identify yourself As a police officer, you are ON DUTY at that point if you are a commissioned law enforcement officer..... Therefore, now your personal defense and the defense of your family and safety take a back seat the offender or person or situation you are engaging... Because you're acting under the authority of a police officer... And by law everyone in your area of control is expected to comply.... Everything that you do in that scenario... Up to that point will come under heavy scrutiny as it will be judged under the doctrine of your training and practices and of the policy of your department, the Academy you attended, the granting authority of your commission and the laws governing your authority (the bill of rights)as a police officer.. If you are acting in a self, defense or defense of others scenario while as a private citizen, you can respond as such, with the same constitutional protection as a citizen acting in a reasonable and prudent manner. This means you'll face less liability if something should happen or someone should become injured or.... In worst case scenario loss of life occurs. If you are acting as a private citizen, you, nor will your department be held responsible for your actions in good faith...This should also insulate you from civil liability Though it will not prevent you from being sued. Not only by the offender's family, the offender and/or the store, its respective employees and the private citizens who just happened to be there, that you probably saved. My credentials are minimal. I do not carry my badge off duty unless I'm in an area where I am well recognized as a law enforcement officer And I have jurisdictional authority to respond. My kit consists of a glock nineteen a spare mag from my seventeen a small pocket knife which by the way...under no circumstances am I going to willfully get into a knife fight....with anyone. I do not carry any life preserving equipment when im not acting as a LEO....unless I simply must put myself in a situation where I reasonably believe that I might need to trear myself or loved ones...such as traveling. Life preserving equipment and training are liabilities as well if you are involved in a deadly incident. These items will be removed from your person and tagged as evidence or at the least mentioned in a report....the liability risk is obvious. I carry because if it comes between myself my family and a threat...im choosing myself and family. My day job and the well-being of the offender and everyone else is not my immediate concern...in my statement, i will reflect that I was acting soley in SELF DEFENSE and defense of vulnerable people in my immediate care (children/spouse)....I was scared and in fear for my life....period. I do not walk around in 5-11 gear....I do not present as a threat so that hopefully when the shooting starts in the grocery store, I can grab my people and get them to safety....I am NOT batman.
