5.7 rounds has bassicly been debunked at this point theyre massively underpowered and have a lethality rate less than .380 auto, an intresting theory and I'd definitely love to see them experiment with that style of pistol cartridge more but as it stands I wouldn't trust my life with that round nor use that round as a standard for protection

Graveyard shift can be good. It is what you make of it. Did all of this working nights for 2 years in a row twice. Hardest part is familial issues that come with 3rd shift. That's the tough part of guys like us having a thankless profession brotha. Fortunately I no longer have that problem anymore, still miss them though. Or unfortunately depending on which way you wanna look at it. The most important people go unnoticed. Especially in the Chicagoland area where we're from. First responders are greatly undervalued. If you value your life don't buy a Hi-Point for self-defense. Its a heave piece of unreliable junk. Get a used handgun from a reputable manufacturer. People who buy these guns are outright poor and dumb, you life is worth a few hundred more for a decent handgun if you value it enough. The carbine is OK if you can get a good deal on it, but even for this category of firearm there are better alternatives.

Traded 3 ak mags for a jhp 45. Ive ran about 600 rounds of all types through it. Hate the way it feels, hate the recoil impulse, and the sights arent great but its never malfunctioned. Its the diamond in the rough haha

Someone didn't get the memo that exotic ammo is legal for civilian purchase in most of the country. Black tip AP, silver and red tip APIT, blue tip incendiary, dragon's breath, etc., etc. It's all legal in most places. Hell, even ordnance and machine guns are legal if you have enough money. Funny how our "rights" are locked behind a paywall.

From what I've noticed newer smaller cities are covered by the sheriff's office where as older larger areas have a local Police Departments. I live in Orange County California the city i live in was established in 1988 and the local law enforcement is the Orange County Sheriff's but I know the city of Irvine has a local Police department. So it really depends. Age of the City and Size will determine if the County sheriff covers your area or a local police department

I know very little about law enforcement but it seems to me that if a criminal is that close to a cop would they not shoot in the head or neck area after knocking down the cop, because I doubt many would still be on their feet after five 5.7 rounds

I never wore my body armor. One time I did during a jewelry store robbery their armor piercing rounds went right through my squad the iron garbage containers and my vest!
