Love this idea. I have been watching and rewatching you all day because I’m being held captive by my recliner. I fell Saturday (on my way to sewing room) and broke my kneecap. Had surgery and can’t bend for six weeks. Will never get tired of your videos because I learn something new every time.

Yes fortunately some people find out how to manage this thing. I am so disapointed about this, because of the price and because of the loss of time spent while trying to put stabilizer en fabrics together. So frankly i don’t recommand this product. But… i do thank you for this excellent idea which will help me not to let duster engrave my hoop.

I saw another way to keep my stabilizer down when hooping. Lay the separator board over the stabilizer and then lay the edge of the hoop on the area next to the slider side. Gradually pull out the board until the hoop is all the way down. It works great, too!

These clips also work great for holding fabric wound on comic book board bolts for storage like so many people do. It's better than pins that pierce the fabric and could (eventually) leave rust stains or holes. The only down side is you need more clips, but you can buy refills easily.

Taught is to teach which Becky does brilliantly! To hoop fabric nice & tight is to make the fabric taut! Look it up if you don’t believe me. And now I’m going to find Becky’s link for clam clips. I have the smaller clips (have had them for almost 30 years) bit I can’t find the clipper. Thank you Becky for refreshing my senior memory!!

Great tip Thank you I was debating on getting that magnet hoop or the hoop that you can buy brothers, that help you do E2E, which do you think is better Becky
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread 2 жыл бұрын
The DIME hoop is a little easier to get the next pass to begin in the exact right spot because you to make tiny tugs to the fabric and move it exactly where you want. You can't do that with the Brother hoop because the magnets are secured on an upside down V shape. Plus, it's about half the price.

I watched one of your videos (actually several) but in one of those videos I saw where you were using a Snap Hoop on your Brother Entrepreneur Pro X 1055X. I have the same machine and have a Snap Hoop, but my machine does not acknowledge the hoop. It gives me an error message that reads "This embroidery frame cannot be used". How did you get yours to work?
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread Жыл бұрын
I load it into the right side first and then slide the left arm to my right until the arms of the hoop can snap into place. Then I think I load mine upside down. The hoop arm on my right side has the circle hole closest to me and the sideways U toward the back of the machine. I've found that the smaller knob on the left must be very tight for the machine to acknowledge the hoop and confirm the design will fit. Sometimes it tells me to switch to a larger hoop when I really don't need to. Once I tighten that screw (I guess there's a sensor there?) then everything is fine. If you continue to have trouble, please reach out to DIME.

Great idea. But I had a different problem using my Monster Hoop the other day. I was quilting my project so I needed the hoop to hold my stabilizer, 2 pieces of fabric and some thin batting. The hoops didn’t hold all this firmly enough and my project continued to move out of position. Any clever idea on how to get a stronger hold?
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread 2 жыл бұрын
This clam clip hack will work for that too. Have you thought of skipping the stabilizer and using the backing fabric as the 'stabilizer'? Then clam clip the entire project to the hoop base sandwiching the batting between the two pieces of fabric making sure the batting wraps around the frame. If you need to leave the clips on the frame, cover them with some paper tape so the metal edges don't scrape on the bed of your machine.
@judieblue14
@judieblue14 2 жыл бұрын
Thx for your response. I used a soft no-show mesh stabilizer but perhaps that wasn’t necessary. I hadn’t considered leaving on the clips for fear of scratching my machine. Hmmm…food for thought. @@PowerToolsWithThread
